NASCAR rod bearings are generally 1.850, at least from the used parts I see on the 'bay.
I believe they're running mains with 2.30" dia, 283 chevy size, but not so sure about that. 9000+ rpm.

Last i checked the s/s Hemis are running Mercedes, maybe Honda, bearings, very small and narrow. It would depend on the rod-piston weight-rpm plus good oil film. I would never worry about chamfered bearings

Thank you for your message!!!!!!!!

I take care of my Engine. Never beat on it. I have approx. 1000 miles on my motor. I put brad penn oil in it. What do you think of synthetic oil???

Synthetic oil as it gets older goes to the higher viscosity, reg oil goes to the lower(10w30). I add the STP zink to my older diesel Mercedes, Dakota gets 0w30 syn, Mobil diesel oil for the cummins. Mustang GT 500 uses 0w50. Was running Mobil 1 in race car, might change?

Here is one more. Do chamfered bearings have a shorter life?

The radius in the crank makes it stronger (fatigue strength)... the chamfered bearing has a small reduction in effective bearing area which (in theory) could result in a small reduction in bearing life. In practice, I wouldn't think it is noticeable or meaningful. A very small tradeoff to get a stronger longer lasting crank.

Thank you for your thoughts...
