Well it's been about 2 years since I have even been able to think about my old mopars. I'm looking at getting my 78 stepside d100 up and running for the drag strip this year using mostly just the parts I have rolling around.
Picked up an 80 with a 360 with 15000 original miles on her. Gonna pull it outta that and mate to my 727 I had in it re seal it and cam it. That is along as it all looks good on the inside. I have a c body 8 3/4 with axles but only have 3.55s as of right now also in a 9 1/4.

So long story short let's see your drag trucks and some info on mods you did that helped out the most, the cheaper the better since mine is a budget build (for now)

Not a full size but a Dodge D50 with a pump gas small block. Drove to track and ran a best of 6.29 @ 109 with a 1.33 60 ft. so far . Just upgraded the fuel system from a mechanical fuel pump to a Magnafuel electric with bigger lines and hope to run faster in the spring. All motor.

I love your D50

My Dad had one those (Mitsubishi, 2.0 & 5 speed) and it was lots of fun...I can only imagine what a rocket it would have been if it had a pump gas small block in place of the 2.0.

I don't fit in those small trucks anymore, so I am going with a Ramcharger. I bought mine off CL about 6 years ago and the project is moving a little slower than I would like, but I have the basics, a Cab Burge built 440, Pat Blais built RMVB 727, spooled Dana 60 with 4.10s... and better yet, I have a great place to build it.

BTW from personal experience, don't expect the fuel system mods to make an immediate difference in ET. What you are doing is preparing for the next step up in fuel demand...better to have it in place first. Good Luck

I am working on my street/strip warlock. It will be mostly street. I have installed a Ramcharger gas tank in the rear.. Mini tubbed with mid 60s c body 8 3/4, running 295/40/18 on the street, plenty of room for much more tire.

Wow great pick ups! I can't wait to get mine rolling. I like your fuel cell style dragula and that's just a sweet pick up all around. The c body 8 3/4 fits? No issues?

Had to relocate spring perches and I think it was 3in narrower. The tires rubbed a touch before I tubbed it.

I just finished mine up after a 3 year build.

Stock bore and stroke cast crank motorhome 440, kb184 pistons, mp stage 5 iron heads (flow 265/187 @ .500), comp 274 cam, Holley street dominator and a Holley 650dp. 727 with a 8" converter and a Dana 60 with 4.10s.

Weighs 3520 full of fuel and no driver....3770 with me in it.

Been a best of a 7.66 @ 87.89 with a 1.63 60ft. 7.5x will happen with a bit more tuning.

Here's a video:

I'm thrilled to death with this simple little combo. Big thanks to 727builder for all his help!

my 440/727/ A-body 8 3/4- 3.91sg

FYI,,, A-body 8 3/4 shares same 43" perch centers and bolts in on top of springs with a shackle flip to tuck 12" rims with a 29x15x15 M/T in the fenders bed tubbed to frame.

with a stock truck axle a 10 rim with 7.5 backset will tuck the 29 M/T in there with it tubbed as well

my 73 c-body 8 3/4 same as 72 truck 8 3/4 at 59" flange to flange

my 67-c-body 8 3/4 is 56" flange to flange. nice for 10" rims

although not a full size.. I had a '94 Dakota street/strip. 440,727, 3500 PTC, '68 B body 8 3/4 with a 4.10 Sure Grip. My best pass was an 11.72. Here's a vid of a different pass.. No, I didn't use nitrous.. that was the other lane.. http://s242.photobucket.com/user/KatFysh...?sort=3&o=0

this was at the Mopar Nats, Moparts car club parking.

What are you doing for suspension and tires to get that truck hooked up? My d100 will hit 86mph in the 1/8th mile but I have absolutely no traction.

I built this truck in '87 with a freshened '76 440 with a .509 purple shaft and a Holley street dominator intake w/ a 800 Holley. rebuilt 727 w/home made manual shift VB and stock Tq converter.
Out back I moved the truck springs under the frame and put a B body Dana 60 w/5.13. and slapper bars and pinion snubber. I cut the stock tubs and moved them. Rear tires were 14 X32's
