'Unusual', not usually or commonly seen, in this case, this particular combination in a 69 Bee.

Okay, gotcha.

FWIW, I don't think "unusual" or "odd" characterize this combo. To me those words imply something that doesn't match or, at the very least, aren't a factory recommended combination.

Even with the vinyl top.

Just for $#i+s and giggles, I went through 1969 Mustang fastbacks ("Sportsroof") in white with several interiors. Here's the breakdown by interior color:

Wimbledon White - 8,597
- black - 935
- blue - 727
- red - 1,320
- ivy gold - 170
- nugget gold - 163
- Decor black - 2,212
- Decor red - 1,981
- Decor white - 385
- Hi-back knitted black - 95
- Hi-back knitted red - 52
- Decor knitted black - 74
- Decor knitted blue - 26
- Decor knitted red - 63
- Decor knitted ivy gold - 19
- Decor knitted white - 51
- Decor knitted nugget gold - 6
- Decor Hi-back knitted black - 294
- Decor Hi-back knitted red - 19
- Decor Hi-back knitted white - 5
(Numbers are courtesy of Marti Auto)

I realize this isn't necessarily analogous, but I'm not finding any of these specs unusual - some just rarer than others.

;-) Excuse my confusing wording as English is not my native language - "not commonly seen" on a 69 Bee is exactly what I meant...

Spring special bees are the best... I have a few of them.

Restoring a car to look "only" as good as the factory made it is like getting a boob job for your wife and having the doctor make them two different sizes to seem more natural

BTW Dan, this is sitting at the place where I got the Bee. I thought you might find it a bit interesting.....

'71 Sport Fury GTs are pretty few & far between, that one looks a little worse off than the Bee, can you get VIN and/or fender tag info from that one?

Dan,
I sent you the info by pm. If you need anything else, just lmk.
Thanks for your help,
Dallas

looking at Diego's post 19 choices in 6 colors (for a "white" Mustang)

..... but the rarity of any color other than "black" & "red" is obvious

Unfortunately, you are probably right. It was purchased years ago as a possible engine donor, the guy didn't realize it was something special at that time. He since found out what the car is, but the tree fell on it so it's probably too far gone to be worthwhile to bring back.

It still has the 440 hp engine in it (and the trans). The interior is missing the bucket seats but still has the console. And you are correct, it is GF7.

The owner is thinking of letting it go so I may try to get it if possible. Not sure what I would do with it either..lol..

if it is still complete and matching it might be worth resto for someone. Just for the labour of love not financially. But it is a rare car with only 375 built for the US.

If you finds a regular 70/71 Fury with a Sports roof you can cut of the metal parts needed to fix the roof damage from the tree

Carsten

That's true. I've seen cars that were much worse than this one restored. I just don't have the drive to do one anymore.

Needs some soap and water, lol. It was sitting in the trees when I got it.
I got a rear end with it but I think it's out of a '67. I may have to rob parts from the '68 Coronet 500 in the background of the first pic to fix this one. I kind of hate to part the 500 out as it's a yellow 383 car with a black top and white interior.

Interesting topic. Have fun with you project. I kinda like working on cars less these days too, but it's the only way I' ll get to drive one.

I have a 68 500 in the yard that I have had since the early 80's.
It was origanaly white with a blue bucket seat interior.
Unfortunately the wisconsin winters have been hard on it.
Hopefully it will be usable in the not too distant future.

Maybe go with a power bulge hood.
Today they are rare and the scooped hoods are almost too common.

It should be advertised so that it has a chance to find a new, enthusiastic owner

"C-Body dry dock" would be a good place to start.

I'll be talking to the owner again. He is considering letting it go, I think. It would be nice to see it restored. It has quite a few nice options.
