heres a few pics of how i start out on the making of a NSS/SS lighten stock k member. This is a B body k member for a NSS car for a Moparts member should be about 20 lbs when im done. This is the drivers side, or whats left of it de-ribbed, lightened and smoothed out, lightened bracket and a few custom ones i make this side weighs 9 lbs and is super strong being the top and bottom are fully welded not just spoted together. I will tool up the pass side tomorrow and will be lighter being only has the bracket for the idler arm And of course its all done on fixtures (3 of them) to make sure it fits back in the car when im done with it I will add pics as it gets done for those who have ask Bondo

Will it survive street duty? If yes, I would think that the driver would have to take ease in those city strangulated streets. Super Kool. I used to have a studio just above a metal shop years back and we invented a few under carriage tricks of our own, but you are taking the cake with pride. Beautiful work.
its stonger that before the 2 halfs are completely welded together now. take a look at the K members under some of the fastest SS/AH cars Bondo

Bob,
Looks great! I can't wait to see the finished product. If you guys need any special lightweight parts or haven't seen Bob's new front end you have to check it out. Will you be at the INDY or the Chrysler Classic Swap Meets with your display?
Glad you like it this is Greg's k frame for his new NSS car i will have everything at Columbus at the CC event swap for people to

what are you gonna use to connect the two pcs. back together? when i did the X member on my ramcharger i took out about 16 lbs. i never thought about grinding the pinch/flange off & welding it solid, might be a future project for me.

A bargain at twice the price! I'll have to send you mine when the time is right....any other little tricks up your sleeves? What can be done to the upper and lower control arms to save some weight?
not much you can do to the uppers without weaken them to much, other than going to a moly tube a arm if accepted in your class.
the lower A arm can be lighten a few lbs. but much more work if you dont have the right tools.
every thing starts adding up fast

Bob, very cool.... A few questions.....(sorry if you already answered them) 1) Would this work on my 65' Belvedere...and is it a "bolt" on deal... 2) Do you need the old K frame sent to you to modify,,or do you anticipate having some on hand to make/modify and then send out... 3) is there any other advantage other than weight savings,,,eg,,clearance ? etc,,,,the K frame i have in the car now,,,is "stock",,,and is notched to clear the pan,,the other pain is,,,you cant drop the motor/trans combined into the car,,,due to pan clearance,,,so they have to go in, out,,seperately,,not a big deal,,but sure would be nice to have some extra room for that as well........ I saw Ricks Challenger and the work you did,,,,it was amazing,,, I wouldnt mind shedding some weight off the car,,,, thanks,,Doug again, NICE work,,, Merry X mas
