Don't remember who posted the fact that in Dec fiat was releasing a cast iron 6.1 again.
Is there any truth to this?
I've called mopar performance and they know nothing.

If dizuster(Scott) or his dad could stop by the second
floor office of the Nascar guys(if its still in the same
place right off the main node)and ask... those guys
were really up to date on most anything that was aftermarket
or MP stuff.. if anybody knows they should... I dealt
with those guys often and thats where I went to tell
them of the incorrect part number issue on the W-9
gaskets..or Zippy.. but I havent seen him on here lately

They are still open online for parts sales. Can't remember what they go by, I'd have to look it up. I bought my 6.4 from them. Good guys to work with.

If you want something interesting, ask about the A4 block prices. A couple versions are on closeout and instead of $5k+, they are on blowout for about $850.

I grabbed one just to mess with. Might end up with a Turbo 4 in something after all.

Isnt that the alum 4 banger block that you can mount the
W-9 head on... I was thinking of doing one of them
with a W-9 head and a turbo... if they're that cheap
I might have to

Yup, but the W9 versions are not available from what I can tell. I got one for the P5/P5 Hemi and the P9 version is also on closeout. I'll hold out for a bit to see if I can find a head, or start messing with the block to get something else to fit. I went for the P5 block since it's 9 inch deck height and the others are only 8.4, or something like that.

At the price there's not much to loose trying something new. I'd love to mod it to fit a P7 head, not sure if that is possible. It just showed up a couple days ago.

Matt, or anyone remotely interested, to aid in any possibility in those blocks ever appearing order one. The fact that they actually show a backorder is a sparce sign that if enough interest appears, they may do a run of them.

They will not be cheap like they were as they can no longer pull a mass produced block off the line and sell it to you.

I just picked up a Jeep with a 6.1. Who has a cliff notes versions of what's different between the 5.7 and the 6.1? Where does the bigger 6.4 fit in?

It was confirmed by email from Monicatti to a member on here - here's the thread.

How a "closed" dealership can issue emails on blocks that are going to be released when MP deny their existence is intrigueing........

Read this page and make up your own minds.......

The dealership IS CLOSED... Kevin was in their parts
department... he now uses the Monticatti title for
his ON LINE business.... I will go over to the Old
Orchard Dodge dealership tomorrow and see whats up
with the blocks(this is where he works now)

5.7 3.92 bore x 3.58 stroke
6.1 4.055 bore x 3.58 stroke
both can use the same cam

6.4 has a new block design 4.09 bore x 3.92 stroke.
6.4 block is stronger design.
all cranks interchange.
not the cams.
the 5.7 to 08 has a three bolt reluctor wheel.
all 6.1 and 6.4 and 5.7 09 and up have 4 bolts reluctor wheels. plus the 09 and up use more teeth on the reluctor wheel.

Heads
03 to 08 5.7. ported will go 330
09 and up 5.7 "Eagle" will go 330 out of the box and 360+ ported
6.1 heads are supposed to be the heads to get. Just read that somewhere. but apparently don't flow as well as the eagle in stock form.
6.4 "Apache" IIRC was 2011+ will go 340 OOTB and 400 ported
All heads interchange. Always use gaskets for your block that your using.
Matt
