Ari - are those raised port heads ? Your pics show a lot of room from the VC plus it looks like the #1 tube is almost resting on 3&5, not so on mine ??? I'm hoping I have a one off tube, more so for Bob's sake, he's a really nice guy and hope the rest of his batch is fine from TTI.

the first pic is with indy 440-1s also had indy sr,s on too so they are raised ports
the second pic is stage six heads also had 906 heads and stage four heads on there too
number one pipe needed to ding it to clear the centerlink tierod
num 7 pipe cut off the coller on the stearing shaft to clear the num 7 pipe
num6 pipe cut a hole on the side of the inner fender to get to that plug
leave the pipes loose to fit the collecters on
put anti seize in the pipes to slip on and it seals them from leaking exhast out and when you need to pull them off again to will save you from beating them off
a motor plate helps you in fitting these headers on

I bought mine less than a year ago and they were part of the "batch of 15". My #1 fits fine with cast Indy VCs. I think you have one made after lunch on Friday. Ole Bob is good peeps and glad he is working with you on this. We'll know more when I stuff the 540 into the car about how well they clear the susp and how the collector angle is. I need to make some new wires first as the 2 rear pass side and the rear driver side need straight plug ends. The trans shield won't fit anymore with these. AN-4 cooler lines had to be routed on top of the starter and a clamp to keep them there.

It's your valve covers It's about 1/4 an inch narrower on top of my Indy cast covers to straight up where yours interferes.

Yes they are 3.5 collectors, quality is very nice, I think they were $850 or $875 plus shipping.. Nice thick flanges etc.

What VC's are those ? I noticed many guys run the Indy VC ? The heads we are running are E-Brock Victor MW 440's with Harland Sharps, we had a set of Moroso chrome covers but the rockers hit, we had to get fabricated to clear.. Are Indy's much different from fabricated ones ?

Update - spoke with Bob Mazz today, very stand up guy.. I explained the situation and he said he would work with me to get it resolved, he said do whatever it takes to get pipe to work for our break in and Dyno session, cut bend or weld pieces. We are hoping its a one off piece. My set was 1st of 15 sets of the latest batch he had made. He is going to test a couple from the rest of the batch on a mock up 440 to see how the #1 tube lines up and send me a new one if it passes his test. I'm hoping mine is just a one off mishap.
Update : Bob mocked up another set at his shop, it was s 400 with b1 heads with fab VC's said it was close to VC but I'm certain I received a one off piece, he said the 2-1/8 pipes are tighter to VC, he's sending a new pipe out today. Bob is a great guy to deal with !

U will lose about 50HP with those headers... Note the significant difference in length between the tubes.. Some are 39" others are 54"... They are well-built, good quality by TTi..
Juts my $0.02...
Interesting that you brought this up, I once called TTI to inquire about the unequal lengths and whoever I spoke went seriously negative in a New York minute in regard to equal versus unequal lengths, he said there was no difference and people who think there is are stupid, etc, etc. I finally hung up on him. That was some years ago but I never forgot it.
Joey
Those headers were originally built for Bill Bagshaw (Red Light Bandit fame) when he ran Pro Parts since there are few off-shelf options for a BB in an A body. They look nice but...
A friend has a 70 A body with a built 440, runs high nines to low tens @ sea level. When his engine was dynoed, the HP was down about 50HP when running the Pro Parts headers... Took them off, installed a set of custom made headers the power jumped back up..
Check out their lengths U will find a very wide variance... Some are 39", others are 54".. Yes they look nice but max HP does suffer, if on a street driven car probably not that critical.... But if used on a track car, suggest U keep looking..
Just my $0.02...

I feel you're pain. Like I posted on the previous page, my fabbed valve covers wouldn't fit over the sharp rockers on the intake side. I chose to profile the valve cover flange lips with a die grinder. Covers slide on n off clean now. If you want, I can pull one off n post a pic so you can get an idea
Yes please if you don't mind, this issue is holding up our breakin and dyno pulls

when you buy headers like this you should not have to go thru this nonsense headers are not they problem my 1.7 ratio jessel rockers don't hit the indy valve covers its the parts your using just need to make everything work for you take your time and work out the bugs !
