My RB with Indy 440-1 and 1.6 HS rockers. Indy VCs (with the Indy logo machined off so I don't advertise for the bastids). The Proparts 2 1/8 clear the VCs just fine and I can get the VCs on/off with the headers. The tightest thing is the MSD dist cap to the corner of the VC.

Sorry, I guess I should have read your post a little better. I would have realized you said Indy type covers not fabbed covers?? I was a little groggy last night and reading/posting from my cell phone Wonder if there is enough material to clearance the cast covers for rockers?? or just rework the fabbed cover to make clearance for the tube. Either way a bummer.

I'd dent the tube and run it.
You should expect everything to need to be massaged a little and always know that unexpected issues come up.
If it was easy everyone would do it.

Well after the 4th set of valve covers we got it dyno'd.
The pro-comp fabricated covers worked, cleared the Harlands and just cleared the header tube in question.. Still think we will need to twist tube away from cover a bit, it's basically resting on it.. The motor is a 493, it made 710 hp at 6400 rpm and 665torque at 5100 rpm.. We are happy !

Thanks moparfish, I got the procomps and they worked,
Header is still pretty close to VC maybe less than 1/8 inch or so but we got it fired up and had our Dyno runs.. We are happy !
