About the same as the original pro parts header collectors.

The trick I always used was to install the collector before tightening up any bolts at head. That one is pretty twisted.

I'd call Bob and see about getting it right.

TTI will not do anything but tell you to try and bend them or use a thicker gasket, or move your engine around. They hang their hat on old Mopars having tolerance variables of 1"+.

I briefly talked to Bob, he said it's probably the taller fabricated VC that's causing issue, I don't think so.. This was before I sent him pics, will call him again tomorrow. I honestly think this tube was either welded wrong or was not in the jig properly when bent up, it's clear from the photos..

I have an RB with MW Victors, sharps and procomp fab valve covers. One tube on my 5320 Super comps was interfering and ended up massaging(denting) the valve cover until I could slip a piece of paper between cover and tube with all bolted down. Worked out fine. Also wanted to run studs for the valve covers and since the pushrod side of the Sharp rockers sit way up kinda over the rail, I couldn't drop the cover down over the studs. I ended up profiling the valve cover rails with a die grinder to conform to the rockers. All good now as I can drop covers straight down over studs. Also run blue stripe felpro cork gaskets no sealer, off n on 6 or 7 times over last year, same gaskets no leaks. good luck on your resolution

Well I went out to the shop last night and put my headers on. This is the first time I had bolted those on. At the driver side collector that same pipe was a tad off but with the bolts loose I could get the collector on and then tighten the bolts. I think the first good pull will stress relieve and make the pipes happier together. My cast Indy valve cover cleared on both sides and can be easily removed which is a good thing cause that's about the only way to get to the center tube bolts on the driver side.

When I first assembled the plug wires on I had a set of Hedman Hustler headers on. These Proparts interfere with my pretty wire job to the point that now I need another set of wires and will have to figure out a different way to route them, maybe from above the headers which is not near as clean.

So now that I need wires, are those firecores any good?

I had the 2" Proparts headers on my 69 Dart, it's really nice that you can install the motor in the car without the headers laying in there. But they were really not that fun to work with.
I used MrGasket ultra seal header gaskets, using RTV would be a nightmare because you have to leave all the header bolts very loose as someone already mentioned. Then you wrestle with getting the collectors installed, and then get your little bolts installed that hold the collectors onto the headers. They hung pretty close to the ground, and are not equal length either.They work good though, this was a 500 low deck with a cam that bled off compression for pump gas and it went 9.82 at 136 through the mufflers on 10.5 tires.
I used custom Firecore wires and loved them, they're hard to remove because the boots snap on so tight.

Update - spoke with Bob Mazz today, very stand up guy..
I explained the situation and he said he would work with me to get it resolved, he said do whatever it takes to get pipe to work for our break in and Dyno session, cut bend or weld pieces. We are hoping its a one off piece. My set was 1st of 15 sets of the latest batch he had made. He is going to test a couple from the rest of the batch on a mock up 440 to see how the #1 tube lines up and send me a new one if it passes his test. I'm hoping mine is just a one off mishap.

Thats cool... now that you called, he now can check
his other parts.. if you didnt call, those other
parts would have been shipped also

U will lose about 50HP with those headers...
Note the significant difference in length between the tubes..
Some are 39" others are 54"...
They are well-built, good quality by TTi..

Juts my $0.02...

IMO, that tube is messed up from the flange down to the collector. Your valve covers should not be an issue and the tube should clear them easily. Other sets have cleared the exact same covers. HMMM.

From the looks of the collector end and the crash
at the VC I would think its bent correctly but it
was rotated a bit when welded up.. probably about
3*-5*.. if the jig allows this then the jig needs work

Interesting that you brought this up, I once called TTI to inquire about the unequal lengths and whoever I spoke went seriously negative in a New York minute in regard to equal versus unequal lengths, he said there was no difference and people who think there is are stupid, etc, etc. I finally hung up on him. That was some years ago but I never forgot it.

Exactly Mr P. I'm almost certain that's the issue and I expressed that to Bob. He's quite concerned about the rest of his inventory. Now I need to figure out how to temp fix the issue so we can dyno the engine. I was thinking of putting a butterfly cut about 2/3 up from the bottom an inch or 2 from flange and clock it 5,10 or 15 degrees down and stitch it back together. I don't think this will compromise the tube diameter that much as far as diameter for dyno runs. Any recommendations are much appreciated.

Myself I would cut the tube off right at the flange
and locate it properly and reweld it.. if you have a
welder you would be done in 20 minutes... what I would
use to cut it off is 4" dia .040 thick cut off wheel
on my die grinder... thats what I use alot, unless
its still a long tube(straight) then I use my horizontal
band saw

I was interested in the fit without the vcover so you could determine the best angle to cut.

Just looking at it I blame the giant valve covers. How much wider are those than the stockers with a flange on them. I run HS rockers under late stock valve covers, minor mods to 4 rockers needed. I also run an antique set of the PP headers. You could try a spacer under the header flange at the head on just number 1.

The VC is not much bigger than a stock piece, also it would be impossible to bolt a stock valve cover in the way the header is sitting currently.
