Like i said my car was 3050 to 3100 gutted but the 64 cars could get lighter. Aluminum hood, fenders, doors, bumpers-brackets, door hinges then do the AFX package, stainless ateel k-frame,remove vent windows and the cranks, plexaglass back and front glass and side windows, gutted fiberglass dash no heater two van seats with aluminum brackets no back seats plus other hidden parts and these cars where close to 2800 lbs. All these things where factory available at that time and used. But if you want a street car with all the luxuries you got a barge, adds up quick.

thanks Gus , they are the numbers I would like/hope to see - 100/150lbs lighter than my 68 . It does seem the Plymouths are always a little lighter than the Dodges

about 40-50 Lbs on the body alone from Hardtop to Post sedan. Reinforcements on hardt's for strength in absence of the B-post as well as a heavier, larger shaped rear window. Sedans strength comes from their boxed triangular shape. Sought of like a gusseted box. Another maybe 15-25 lbs on trim exterior and interior and other amenities. Consoles included.

My car is a hardtop plus its a 500 with all the trim and a/c. Maybe thats where the extra girth comes from.

500's were/are some of the heaviest of the early B's. Pretty cars though. By the way, keep in mind that the 64' B's are just a couple or so inches longer and a half or so inch wider than the 65's. That with a slew of bigger elaborate front bumpers make for some extra pounds.
The 62' are the smallest, but open for debate on their handsomeness or lack of it. I personally love them all. 63's are in between with the weight but start to look fantastic.
These days, someones gotta take what ever comes on the plate whether it's a hardtop or Post. They are becoming harder if not, impossible to find in great shape unless of course, if you go raid Mosher's stash out West. LOL.
x2, well said.

DVW and I are seemingly neck and neck on the weight race. I think doing anymore to his car would disturb the beauty already in place. But if and when he decides, I'll be happy to share my Felix the cats magic bag of tricks as he probably would as well in the quest to break the 3000 LBS mark.

3120 w/o me. All steel including bumpers, except hood. 2 batteries, Mega block, 2 carbs, fire system. Like Lee says you can get them light. I positive I could get below 3000lbs if I wanted. Doug
What can i say, my favorite car. Very nice, it can get lighter with out messing with the looks

Hey Doug, what color is your 64? It looks like what I had in mind for my 64 Savoy wagon. Toxic Orange
