Hey gang.. Mr. Charger here is diving into the ranks of E-body ownership, that of a 1970 Challenger T/A... It is a Top Banana non-vinyl ( which I prefer ) 4speed non-console. It is in real good shape and I'm excited about owning my 1st E-Body... After restoring my buddy's '71 v-code Challenger R/T last year, I sort of grew to like it. Soooooo, with that said, is there a thread on the idiosyncrasies of Challenger T/A's? I'm sure there are little things here and there and that's what I'm looking for.... More pictures once it is home ( hopefully in two weeks ). It is funny how things fall into place. Wasn't even looking for a E-body, was going the Charger R/T route after I sold my Daytona clone. Got it from a good friend of mine I've known for decades.. I hope to have it home in about a 1.5 weeks..
it's an older restoration, couple of years. The original block is long gone, but was replaced with a real TA block. Has all the other TA-specific stuff if I recall correctly.

There are many "special" things about the T/A to watch for. The big ones are: * 340 six pak callouts on the correct side? Your's look good * Proper use of blackout paint on the cowl, radiator support, inner fender bolt on area, rear spoiler, and rear spoiler. * Nuts (rather then bolts) to hold down fenders
And many more. Barry sells a CD set of photos of the 173 mile T/A which is great for reference purposes (although even that car was modified).
Looks like a great car. Enjoy

Theres no doubt that some had A COUPLE of nuts rather than bolts but I've seen way to many with bolts that are original, problem is that when it becomes the accepted norm people who find bolts find it easier to change than to fight what the masses believe to be true.
If you have a car and are unsure, change to nuts, but if your sure it's original, stand your ground.
Nice car by the way !

Neat car, I like having a B and an E body.

For me, guess I'm pretty lucky to have the ones I do to represent the B and E..

Thanks guys... Needless to say, I've been doing my fair share of picture viewing on TA's and have seen a couple with the mouldings.. Nice to know I don't need to worry about those pesky things...
