On the 6.4 hemi head at the request of a racer to see what we have to work with.

Thanks for the cross section pics. Does not look like there is a lot of material to remove, but I am not a head porter. How much more can you make these flow compared to stock. I noticed that you burred through on the roof of the exhaust. Did this happen before or after you cut the head. Did you expect this to happen or did you think that you had more material to work with. Having said this, I am guessing that you cut the head after going through. So what are your expectations at this point?

I just bought a set of 6.4 heads.
Thanks for sharing.

Awesome how the Apaches, and I think Eagles too, dont have any guide boss intrusion into the port. I have cnc'd 6.1's and they dont look even close to as good as theses do.

No doubt you'll get this head working well Brett. One tip I can offer is that when removing both the pushrod bumps it seemed to hurt airflow a good amount. So you may try that with your experimenting.

Well, yes like a longer, more gradual turn into the valveseat. I would think the bumps slowed the airspeed down to better allow the turn. But I have no seat time on these style heads. I was just passing along a lesson learned when developing the "eagle" head from the 'source' himself lol.

Will try lots of "stuff". Lol

Advice taken.

Just off pure size checks it should not want that second choke point.

What I think it wants is 2.200" valve.

First set of numbers are out of the box.

After 2 trips to grinding bench and 2 trips to the flow bench they are starting to look like something.

Thanks Brett for the before and after port work numbers from the same flow bench.

Hopefully that test head was a good investment
