Gary Pavlovich and friends are coming out with a new poly intake, I have a poly in my 67 Valiant, it has a Scnieder cam, slightly ported heads and a factory four barrel intake with an AVS carb and factory chrome valve covers, it runs great!, has tons of torque and would no doubt do better if I could shoehorn a set of headers into the A-body

The engine is soon to be replaced by a W2 340 though, this engine will be for sale for $500 less dist. and carb.

Deck height between the Poly 318s and the LA318s that came right after them are the same, 9.600". Late 318s, like my '86, have a deck height of 9.577 or 9.578.

For years, the cheap trick for higher compression 318s was to substitute the Poly pistons for LA pistons. They had a comp height of 1.81. But the KB167 LA 318 piston has a comp height of 1.807 or something like that. The deck heights for the two engines are the same.
