There are several recommendations here for the Holley 3310. The 3310 used to be my go-to carb for 440s. It is a good carb, but it is old calibration and design that requires several adjustments to work best on our engines.

I just have 2 questions for those that recommend the 3310 over the new Street Demon;
1st) Have you had a wide band O2 on your 3310?
2nd) Have you tried a Street Demon on your car?

Every 3310 that I have had on 440 has been too rich on the cruise. They need the mains stepped down several sizes for a good cruise mix. And then the PVCRs need to be opened up to get the WOT mix back where it needs to be and the power valve opening point needs to change.

On most, the secondaries open way late and so need a spring kit to dial in the best opening point.

And if a choke matters, the Street Demon had the electric choke standard.

If the OP is buying a new carb, he would be much better served with the Street Demon. More features, better calibration.

BUT, if the OP is on a budget and can tune, the 3310 is often a bargain at swap meets. They have been around for decades and the swaps are full of them. A little shopping can usually get a decent one for $75-$100. It will need cleaning, a kit, some jets, and a spring kit, but will do a good job.

By the time you get done freshening up the old 3310, you will have $150 or more in it plus your time.

For $200 +/- more the Street Demon drives better, won't need the parts or time, and has a choke.

a quik fuel adjustable Vac pod upgrade and a AED 4160 to 4150 meter block conversion or a plate/jet conversion go a long way at updating the older carbs.

just updated my 1850-3 600cfm to rear meter block/duel feed bowls/adjustable vac pod for a 4150 style 600cfm vac 2ndary carb that is a little brother to a 3310/4160 model. swap meet deal with less than 200$ total. should work great on my stockish 318.

looking to do the same with a 3310-2/4160 model for my RPM intake on the 440 truck. gotta score a 3310-2 then add 150$ for conversion kit.

A 3310, is an ok carb. I would never recommend that someone actually go out and buy one.
