Thanks for sharing the discount code - Ordered the Fox Shocks (was going to order them anyway). I would have ordered the sway bar set too - but even with the discount Summit is still cheaper overall on that part. I had almost all the other parts I am using at this time (UCAs, subframe connectors, etc) already.
Can't wait to install the parts. Thanks again for the tech help as well.

Feets, If you can get us the dimensions an mounting styles along with the corner weights of the car and spring rates we can dial you in a pretty close shock based on our codex. The nice thing about our new system is the guys can do the math based on that information to give us a good ballpark to test a new shock from.
Thanks. I'd hate to see the cost of custom shocks. The fronts are the same as the 70s C bodies but the rears are longer. I've got the numbers around here somewhere.
My bro-in-law has access to some corner scales. I've been wanting to drop the Imperial on them to get some real world numbers. The only weight I have on it is from driving it across the scale at the landfill.
Did you land the Imp with the front tires only and rear tires only on the scale as well at the landfill or just a quick hit for a total weight.
BTW how large is the mass of the Imp?

I plopped it square in the middle of the garbage truck scale. It showed a little over 5100 lbs. The beast is 236" long with a 127" wheelbase.
Chrysler took the C-barge and stretched the front end 5" to make the car bigger. The engine did not move forward but the entire subframe is MUCH heavier than a Chrysler. They gave it a removable K frame too. The K was an integral part of the subframe on the other cars.

Feets you need to adapt some Chevrolet Suburban Torsion bars onto the Imp. They have a 1.5" hex and are 54" long with bars rated from 4553 to 9054 ft/lbs that will firm up the ride on the Imp with a little old fashioned backyard engineering that Imp could handle as good as my 1999 4wd Suburban which by the way handles better stock than a 1970 E body did stock.....and out weighs that E body by a few pounds. http://www.gmfullsize.com/tech/torsion401.html

Why not an adjustable rear torsion bar mount, then you can relocate that rear mount and use any T bar you want.

Firm Feel can make bars for the Imperial and I won't have to mess with building different mounts. The Suburban bars are 4" too long. Hack two inches off each end and you lose the hex.

The boss said if you get us the details on the car, we'll see what we can do!

Ah, but an adjustable rear T bar mount would let A bodies run longer B/E body bars and have more clearance for transmission swaps.

Not necessarily... Longer bars would require larger diameter T-bars which means less header clearance.

Header clearances around the torsion bars are "that tight" ?
Ill have check my friends W2 headed 340/408 Duster out a little closer.
Remember increases to one spot of the header is only 1/2 of the increase in diameter unless the bars are offset ground in one direction.....I don't think that's happening.
So an increase of 0.10" increase in radius will kill header fitment?
Most likely not, but knowing Chrysler's tolerances and any improper engine placement and there's a possibility of having a bad day. Just look at how much trouble people who put Gen III Hemi's and T56 into A-bodies. They already have trouble with header clearance with TTI headers.

My TTI Headers fit well on my Chally with B1BS heads tubes .... better get out the feelers gauges before I increase the bars on that barge. I will report how close these are with torsion bar diameter.
E-bodies have a lot more room than A-bodies. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif)

Does that include all the suspension kits. I need to go through the front end on my Plymouth wagon this winter.
Just looked, nothing for 73 B bodies.
