If the state will register it, give it tags, and you have insurance on it, it's a street car.

Seems all the people that cry " it's not a street car!!" are the ones that don't have anything to go against it.

Now how far you can drive this street car is another matter...

If this is the definition of a street / strip car; then everything short of a Top Fuel dragster is a street car. Hell, I'm sure you could even run on of those down the blvd for a few minutes..... alright, throw those in too.

Lights and license plate ?
Ridiculous + ridiculous = ....... I don't know.
But I never was very good at math.

I could care less what anyone calls it, I would like to see what it runs at the track. you don't race dyno's.

I 1000% agree. BUT...where I live, it wouldn't make it 100 ft without being sited for the wheelie bars and "obstruction of vision". So in reality, it's a "circus car". Yes, it CAN putt around town, but it's more suited to the wow factor on the show/fairgrounds.

On the other hand, take it to the 405 and see how it stacks up, being that the video called it one of the fastest street cars in the world.

People are funny...On this site, you guys are debating if its a street car or not due to various things like cup holders, and on the other site, they are saying how slow it looks and it was only 1307rwhp on the dyno it buried...And they wont give it any respect without some ET numbers.

I don't know about you guys, but that is a really healthy street legal car that is way faster than anything I will ever drive, I am sure. Looking at the other vids of it, it looks like no detail was too small to ignore.

I would like someone to explain to me the sequence where it looks like he uses a hand brake and lets it build pressure before engaging the Lenco....

Beautiful work and awesome ride - no doubt - no matter what you call it. Wish it was mine. Thanks for sharing. Mine is probably 4 seconds slower, but it doesn't have a cup holder ether, so we have something in common

As I prepare to attend my 5th Hot Rod Drag Week, the tenth running of this event, I am reminded of how many things that automatically eliminated a vehicle from the "Street Car" discussion have been proven to be false. A spool? Heck, everybody does that these days. A lenco? Larry has completed 7 Drag Weeks with one, so no big deal. Roots blower? Strut front end? 14 to 1 compression? Lexan windows? Steam Roller bias-ply tires? Yep, they've all made the trip several times!

We've seen, 5 or 6 Moparts members converting their racecars back to street driveability over the last year or so, and I'm sure more will follow.

My 67 Belvedere is a drive back and forth to work 3 days a week, cruiser. low 13s on motor, low 11s on bottle. I like throwing 5 people in it and going anywhere, so it will never have a bar.

My 62 Valiant has a full cage, spool, ladder bars and bias ply MT ET Streets. I love driving it on the street, though I've had the "racecar with a tag" moniker thrown at me plenty of times.

My new project is an old 67 Barracuda Super Gas car. Dana 60 with a 4 link, full chassis, strut front-end, I already have it tagged and titled, next up is all the body and interior work required to make it a proper street driven race car. It will be powered by an all aluminum 512 low deck with 3 stages of spray. I want to put wedge in it very similar to the Valiant on here, In fact there are many things I would do identical to his...if I had the money or the talent!

My brother's Gremlin has a couple thousand miles on it this year, all with a 5 gallon fuel cell, and 4 inch exhaust.

I give you and your family all the credit for spending the money and the time to pull off running in that event. I especially like your Barracuda with the now 9s small block Hemi in it...Good luck this year! I have to live thru you as I would love to compete one year in that.

Didn't do that, but about 3 weeks ago I cut down some shrubs/limbs and put them in the back of my truck to haul off to the dump!

Amen!
I remember that whole Pro Street craze in the 80's and 90% of them wouldn't accelerate if you pushed them off of a cliff. Good to see.
