Well, i just did my 5 trips to the parts store to find a serentine belt to fit my magnum motor. Reason i had a hard time was because i had an engine that originally had A/C and i cut that part of the bracket of (Truck is non A/C).

Well, i was sitting here wondering why i couldnt just get a non-A/C belt and found it was to short. So a dive into the specs of belts produced one to fit--although i had to use a 6 rib belt rather than the stock 7 rib---you really cant tell unless your looking for it.

I bought some new motor mounts too, but thats for another day. Im getting closer though..........

I went to a car show sunday almost all day got me a nice sunburn and on the way home every time i pushed the gas pedal hard(which is all the time) i got this weird knocking noise then it would quiet down and become a slight vibration so i was a little concerned i can see the aircleaner through the back of the cowl and i noticed a bit more movement than i figured it should have when i got home i jacked it up and sure enough the left side motor mount is torn in two the trans mount rubber is all squished out one side the trans mount bolt is rattling on the cross member so needless to say i have some new mounts i just need to put them in

Wow, I thought I was the only one Sometimes, after it gets into 2nd gear, I'll punch it just to hear the chirp when it kicks down!

That's 'cause it doesn't make racing noises on its own!! Of course, it does get over 27 MPG... I hate you, OG...

As for the mind set,ummm...MEEEE?, nahhhhh...
No word on the school yet.
And btw, the new turbo motor may kill my mileage, like down by at least three to five...till I can get the injection dialed in by fuel pressure on the return side and find out what kinda timing specs it will truly like. It isnt a new world totally for me as I have played with turbo/efi stuff before, and it took me awhile to get a good performance/ mileage compromise.
The car in question was a turbo coupe T-Bird,four cyl 5 speed. I ended up getting around 25 hiway, and it turned a best of a 13.60 flat.
I think the seemingly low mileage figure was due to excessive use of "the one on the right"(pedal)
Sometimes I think a turbo pulling boost as the wastegate opens, and the pressure still rises is as good as a heathy big block fun wise.
It is amazing how quick things happen under pressure.

that all makes sense, my dad found a 79 2wd stepside slant 6 for sale the guy acted like a dozen people were coming to get it for 400 bucks but its still sitting there maybe i can get it cheaper? dunno im gonna sit on it for a while and see what happens, i have a turbo for my little get to work car but im afraid to put it on and lose mileage or maybe blow up the poor little motor, how hard is the turbo on a non turbo motor?

Well, it can be pretty hard, depending on driving habits.
The main thing is to have a stout bottom end, with forged pistons and at bare minimum good hp rod bolts.
The install should be somethin you could handle, bein an exaust pro....
If ya can, scope out a foreign car turbo setup, or a Mustang svo, or t-bird turbo coupe.
These are dry systems (efi and the turbo blows air only, not mixed with fuel.)
Carb systems can be either wet or dry, depending on whether it is a blow thru (the top of the carb (dry) or draw thru system(wet).
Also consider the compression ratio needs to be low, around 7.5:1 at most for street use.
