Well, some update from me. I finally received a power steering bracket so now i can soon finish putting the front half of the engine together.
Good things come to those who wait i guess...

Ok, here is a question put out for opinions. Slider Rear Windows...good? Bad? Do they help in venting the truck? Do they increase wind noise? The reason I ask is because my 86 presently has a one piece rear window in pretty good shape, but I also have a slider that I've been thinking of putting in. I've never had a truck with a slider before, so I don't know if it is really worth it. So let me have it. What's everyone's opinion?
I had a 95 Sport with a solid window. Quiet, easy to keep clean and don't miss the ventelation because it was a AC and PW truck.
Had a 73 and presently my 87 have sliders. Rattles but without power windows I've more than once had to open the back window because I can't reach the passenger crank while I'm belted up.

On the window thing, I wish I had mine installed...Just need the new "yeah, it's got a slant six" sticker and the mate to it "sweeet!" The other update is I now have the head for the new slant in the machine shop gettin bigger valves put in, got a rebuilt turbo, and have all the stuff for efi together. I have a steel crank shortblock that needs freshened up, only has 21000 miles on it, so that is next. On the slant six forum, they have a guy that will machine a slant bellhousing for a T-5 ford tranny. That's on the list too, but for starters I am gonna still use the 833 od, once I get the engine done and installed, efi/turbo bugs worked out.... Is that enough of an update on truck stuff from me? O.G. Oh, and btw, after the gm module/ford coil swap, I got 27.2 mpg on the trip back from Oklahoma...at 70 plus mph...... (edit)...did I mention I had about 900 pounds of granite and tools on board?...LOL...Wagonmaster can vouch for the load....

I used a GM hei module and a ford e-core (square) coil....it all runs on 12 volts, and provides much hotter spark..is compatible with the Mopar distributor.....works fantastic, looks cleaner than the mopar box too. O.G.

I will get pics this weekend... As for the unreliability of modules, I have lost 3 mopar units in a year, and in the past, I owned gm stuff, only lost one hei module, so experiences differ. I did the swap with better spark on a full 12 volts as my basis for better mousetraps aren't always made by the same manufacturer. Also I need the gm module to run the injection I am swapping to, as it sends a square wave signal, and the mopar unit does not. O.G.
