OUCH you guys hurt my feelings,NOT,LOL I enjoyed your comments,REALLY! Ya the windup is really something but it is gone after the 60' and I was concerned about it pulling out the yoke or extra ware on the splines. Listen you guys I have been doing the best I can and to progress every chance I get out.I will have you know and sit down to read this I ordered some caltracs. FINALY and I have been wanting to for a long time but like I said when I can I will buy progressing the best way I know how and as MY choice. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif) Now if I can get ready for the mopar meet at Norwalk in September.
Did you get the -1 mono's or are you going to use your SS Springs?

I thought cal-tracs and super stock springs worked against each other!
The spring is only holding up the car with caltrac's.

A leaf spring does 2 things... and the stiff SS spring does more than a stock spring... the rear segment of the spring is the spring rate of it.. the front segment controls the location and lift.. so with the SS spring it has a greater ability to lift and the caltrac will add more lift ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif)

Thanks Mr P!I can't say offhand what my ss spring rate is for a 454/455 spring[3800# car rating] but it would be more progressive than the 200/225# mono I would think and may be better for weight transfer at first.
The caltracs were designed to work with a stock type of spring where the front doesnt have all the lifting ability that the SS spring has.. so you might be better off you worn springs that you have now or even a set of stock or HD springs.. with a new set of SS springs and the caltracs you might end up with as much lift as you have now(2 strong lifting forces)... thats why they work well with monos... you dont have the 2 strong lifting forces only 1 ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif)

You will be happy with their springs & bars. Gives that adjustability you never had before. I also think you will find the Rancho shock will not give you the control you'll need with that torque monster!
We can argue the shocks another time and I got the caltrac bars not the springs. They said it will be no different.
Correct. The bars don't know what spring they are bolted to. The ONLY advantage that John's springs have is that they are light. The bars take the spring out of the equation; it's now only holding up the car.
I know of a couple of cars that have them on OLD OE leafs and they hook and run good numbers. I added them to a set of worn out SS springs once and they made an INSTANT improvement over not having them. But when I added his springs, SAME everything...60' ET, etc.
Any time slips from that beast you'd like to share??
