I'm planning on the HEI swap in a bit,I just need to find a non computer carb.I bought one from ebay and rebuilt it and it turns out that it may not be the right carb for what I have. I have everything else for it though.

A 318 carb will work, but ya may need to jet it with the proper slant six jets, I have also heard of guys using the holley/ weber progressive 2 bbl, better power, but less mileage. If ya arent familiar with these, they used em on pintos and vegas, and are a popular a/mkt conversion for vw's.

WOW! page 18!

A couple months ago I saw someone selling on eBag a machined alumnium piece that bolted to the bottom of the Mopar EI dist. and the HEI module bolted to it. Nice and compact. Might have more of a chance splashing water on it on a /6 than on finderwell though.

Thanks for the info. Already got a door off of a 90 truck. It was in such great shape, I wanna get the other door too, but I was told it was pretty banged up. The only drawback is that the new door has a full length panel with a speaker behind it and my old door (still on the passenger side) only has a half length door panel and no speakers.

No it mounted underneath the large part of the dist. I hope I can make the attachment work.

The auction number was 4617747144.

That is one of the pictures borrowed from the auction. I thought $40 was a little steep for a piece of alumnium. It makes a nice package though. Would be fairly nicely protected on a V-8, not too sure about a /6. Just thought I would make a different suggestion to mounting it on inner fender.

I have a GM HEI module on my slant 6 along with a ford e-core(square) coil, all mounted on one bracket made from a piece of 2 in angle aluminum. I mounted it on the passenger side inner fender.
I regapped the plugs to .040 , and it did have a seat of the pants improvement. Better spark, and cheap too! The module cost me $15.00, and the coil about 20 at O'Reilley's....not sure what a Mopar control unit costs, but considering the fact that it idles better, and runs better too, I am sold on it.

Congrats on the emblems Pokey!

Why does the title of this thread read 81 - 90?

Is there a significant change between 80 and 81 or 90 and 91?
