JeeseR, what can you tell us about the Moroso front coil springs? How did they help? better front lift? how hard was the installation? Do you remember the part# Thanks

The moroso part number is 47180, they are listed as camaro or nova springs in the catalogs. It took me a few times to get my ride height where I wanted it but other than that pretty simple installation. Just be careful when you cut them because they are a smaller diameter material so they will be significantly longer than the stock ones. They made more difference dollar for dollar than any suspension changes I have ever made. They really help throw the weight of the heavy nose. Hope this helps, jesse

I drove it a lot on the street but it definitely wouldn't handle the bumpy roads as well. The front would float a little, it settled down pretty quick though.

How much did you end up cutting off of the springs? I have a set of those springs we had in a Dakota, but they were cut 1 1/2 coils for them to work with the Dakota. I'd like to use them in my 75 d100 if they won't end up being too short.

I'm thinking I cut two coils off, my truck sits really low in the front though.

Mine sets pretty low now. I have stock springs with 1 coil cut now. I think I will give the trick springs a try and see if it makes much difference.

Andy is that a stock width rearend? Tubbed? Looks like a 315 drag radial? 15x8 wheel?

It's a 70 truck housing, stock length. I installed it on top of the leaf springs, just had to weld on new perches. It is a 315 drag radial on 15x10 wheels with 6.5in backspace. They tuck real nice!!! I did have to tub it. If you roll the wheel well lips you might can get away with less backspace and not have to tub. I already had the wheels so I just tubbed it to the frame rails.

Might want to look at replacing the lower a-arms with pocketed units from a 3/4 ton Van.....do a search in the truck forum....there's tons of info. With those a-arms you might not have to cut any coils...??? It's a pretty straight forward swap.....  Here's how ours sat with the pocketed a-arms and stock height coils....  Rickster

An 8.8 is alwaysa budget option too.
Being a turbo Street/strip truck I don't plan on it leaving extremely hard.
But probably in the high 1.5s.
8.8 Would be a good choice.....although we ran in the 8's 1/8th mile with an 8.25....still have a suregrip 8.25 sitting on the shelf....

An 8.8 will probably go into whatever vehicle I build next. I think it would be a good option for you- They can take quite a beating, don't weigh a ton, have good aftermarket support, and are plentiful and cheap in local u pull it yards

rear shackle flip with A-body 8 3/4 12" rim 29x15x15 M/T tubbed flush with frame rails bolts in on 43" spring centers. I have used a 94 jeep 8 1/4 that has the same 43" perch centers same as d-150/A-body for a narrow bolt in axle under the trucks. D60 with bars/coils
