So you need a $100k car to go 10.80's?.....Sorry not sold on them....
On your next 10 second pass crank the wheel as hard as you can to the left while grabbing the large disc brakes, then turn on the AC tell the GPS where you want dinner and drive straight there with all the White Snake you can handle hearing. I'm sure all of our old cars are capable lmao
??? I could go buy a 2011 Mustang GT add some boost and get that done pretty quick. Probably could do a used SRT-8 Charger as well. I'm also guessing it could be done for well under 100k on one of our old school rides. 100k is a lot of money.

Here y'all go: http://www.civicforums.com/forums/194-ve...er-reduced.html
You can probably pick up this Honda for $2,000 add about $10,000 worth of engine/tranny/rear/suspension and go 10.50 all for under $15,000. That will meet your goal easily!

Both the ZR1 Corvette & Camaro and the Mustang will as well but not sure which one it is.My Calloway Corvette was suppose to be a 10.20-9.70 when delivered to Hendrix Chevy in NC. It now runs 9.38-9.42 in the 1/4 mile done about 3 weeks ago @ SGMSP.
<a target="_blank" href="http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/537/0019d5.jpg/"><img src="http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/150x100q90/537/0019d5.jpg" border="0"></a>
That's not a factory production car. The Challenger Hellcat IS a 10 second factory production car.
I have the original sticker from Hendrix (the big Nascar Guy)dealership. And the HellCat will never run as Fast as any of the LS3 powered cars, well maybe it will if they come with a roll bar!*!
They Daymn sure are you can go to any Chevy Dealership and buy one built by Chevy right off the lot.You can also buy a Caddy CTVS (I think CTVS is right) and they will do it.
You just don't get it.
The Hellcat is a stock factory production car, your modified Corvette is not, MY modified Jensen Interceptor is not, and a rocket ship blasting off in China? Nope, it's not either. What is the fastest bone stock factory produced LS engine powered car's best time? Reread that before you reply. Bone stock. Factory produced. No rockets.
Wait till you own one that runs that then Reply,as of right now you or no one else owns one and if the negative talk about them keeps growing they more than likely will SH*T Can the whole project!

Actually, no. A few dozen guys repeating their whining propaganda on MoParts really doesn't matter. AT ALL.
As for me I am very Proud of myself I got a least one or two of you pushing for and maybe even wanting one!!!
Quote:
Actually, no. I have no interest in purchasing a newer car, I would if I won the lottery but I like older non-mainstream stuff. I doubt anyone here cares what you posted about the Hellcat Challengers.
THANKS THAT'S WHAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO SAY!*! You do not or can not afford one so you do not not want anyone else to have one. To be Honest I doubt that I would sell my Vette to buy one,but I would like to be able to if I chose to.
That is the only thing I was trying to get any of you to do....there was just a post on Small Block Mopars not having any good parts and there have been 1,000 of post about not enough good parts for Big Block ,and its not the Chevy/Ford peoples fault its the Mopar people fault they find fault in any and everything new anyone even thinks about making for us!
Quote:
Actually, no. MoPars have been kicking butt on brandX garbage for years. Nobody even LOOKS at Corvettes when a Viper is around, Racing bodies have tried to legislate MoPars out of their superiority, and brandX stuff just isn't interesting. Cheap maybe, but not ultra cool.
Anyone who does not like a Corvette is Un-American !
You do not have much knowledge when it comes to these cars do you? Do you own or have ever owned either a Viper or Corvette? I went to NC to buy a Viper and when I found out he was only selling it to buy a Vette,I went and checked it out as well and you can say the rest is History I now own the Vette, and had to pay $1500.00 more for it.
People before you say you do not want or would never own a HellCat Challenger, stop by your Local Chevy Dealership with your Wife or Girlfriend and test drive a ZR1 Camaro(you can forget about the ZR1 Vette you will be lucky if they even let you set in it)both of you set in it and let the seats all the way to the rear and tell the Sales person you would like to Test drive it,unless its a 98 lb Women they will not be able to climb in the back seat and ride with you. Then come back and tell everyone how you like it. I'm talking about a Bone Stock.Factory Produced
Quote:
Actually, no. Nobody cares about test driving newer Camaros or Corvettes except closet Chevy fanboys. Boring.
:thumb You say that only because you have never driven one and do not know just how Fast and how streetable these cars or and I am sure the HellCat would be right up there with them. And they come with a Factory Warranty! Its no longer the Roaring 80's its 2014 step up to the modern times.

The hellcat is pretty freaking amazing. Really pushing the limits of what you could get in a FACTORY heavy weight non-sports car with a warranty.
That said, it also really doesn't surprise me much. Any of these new generation small blocks (LS3/LT1, 5.0, HEMI) would not be far behind with some bolt on boost. In the late model chevy world, guys have been building 700hp daily drivable street machines from even the earlier generation LS stuff for years. I suspect the same is true with mopar 6.1 hemi guys. Once you started getting heads flowing well over 300cfm's out of the factory, the whole small block world went crazy lol
I have been building a 396 stroker from a 96 LT1 for boost over the years. I am planning on hitting 650 RWHP on 12-14 psi. From what I have seen from guys doing setups similar to mine with the same heads/similar cams, it shouldn't be too hard....it's not exactly an exotic "pushing the envelope" build anymore. Granted the 650whp number guys are hitting with these similar setups are with pretty lumpy (yet still hydraulic) cams and a decent amount of boost, but this is also a gen 2 SBC we are talking about here with head flow being 295cfm at .600, maybe 300 if you are lucky. If guys are building those motors for 750fwhp with practically daily drivable street manners (if you don't mind some choppy cam lope) then it's no surprise here that a late gen hemi with off the chart head flow specs and all sorts of other cool technologies can do the same in an even milder setup.
Hate to say it, but the days of old school big blocks and small blocks are probably dead and gone with the prices of some of the late gen stuff dropping. You can make more power with a cam only LS3, 6.1 hemi or 5.0 than most guys make with full race LA strokers.
As far as the price goes, I am sure it is no joke. I would/could never spend that much on a car and like always, I am sure the same thing could be built in one of our garages for cheaper... Important to remember though, you're not just buying a 10 second car. This car probably probably has some amazing braking and cornering power...and on top of that, I'd be willing to bet the ride quality is top notch. One thing you notice when driving these new cars is how docile they feel, suspension wise, yet they can still be thrown into turns like a full road race car. You could probably build something for much cheaper that will perform better all around, but I'd be willing to bet it won't be as comfortable to drive.

I thought I just wasted 5 minutes of my life reading the previous posts. Glad to see somebody figured it out. IF the price is 100,000.00 then they fail on that aspect. If it's 60,000.00 then it will sell. Matt

What factory GM or Ford runs that fast or faster off show room floor again? Just asking, not trying to start an argument.
May be a little late of a reply but stock ZR1's on stock tires have gone as fast as 10.66 @132 and 10.26 @135 with drag radials. By no means am I trying to bash the hellcat just putting the info out there. That hellcat is sweet. Wonder what they will do to step up the vipers power since it is their halo car.
Very true BUUUUUUUUUT LOL I think the ZR1 is way more car and way more expensive. ZR1 vs Viper

This was done by an individual (who knows how stock it really was) not by any testing magazines or even Chevy themselves.
The fastest "official" bone stock times publish I have ever seen is 11.40's.
Maybe when someone gets one he will be able to run some 10.6's after playing around with it some too, keeping it bone stock, wink, wink.

The stick car ran 10.91, the 10.80 in the auto is "laughingly" underrated.
We'll all see first hand when they get into the public. 10.50's in the 8-speed with drag radials / slicks is what I am thinking and 10.80's for the 6-speed with the same.
More boost? Much quicker.

I'm sure some "stock" (according to their owners) Hellcats will eventually show up running 10.50s, or better with non-stock tires.
