Well, the mounts that shumacher had for the cars i thought were urathane. The important thing for me was that whole interlocking never fail design. I looked all over for the urathane mounts for a car or truck and couldnt find them---however it appears shumacher has solid mounts now. Even though i have run solid mounts before in my cars with minimal vibration, i still think its a little rough for a cruiser. I guess all i can do is a set of stock mounts and a limiter of some type.

As far as the paint deal goes-- finding something similar, this color is so weird on this truck, i have yet to come across something that is close. I did find a slightly darker green that i could use as a base so i dont have to use so much of the thinner/transparent metallic green paint that belongs on the truck though. It seems this unique color was 2 years only best i have found out so far.

Thanks Webster. I was kinda thinking that something back to 80 or 81 would probably fit. How much newer? 90? 93? If there is a broad range of years to choose from, Imay have a better chnce of finding something if I need to.

85_Ram_4speed, if your truck is an 85, yours should have the "safety" feature built into them, I just put some in my 76 today that were from an 85.
like this:

Granted they could still tear apart but they wont allow the engine to twist so far that it rips your fan shroud apart like what happened to me last week!

On the hunt for another beauty to build.

Well, yes they are like that, but i feel the movement allowed is to much. I have decided to just get another set of stockers like that and i will add a tourqe strap of somesort in later on---

85_Ram, thanks for the advice on the doors. Heres a suggestion on the torque limiter...the ferd exploder uses a kind of shock type limiter. I know it's a ferd part, but it might look better that a chain.

I had to remove the chain I had rigged up on my old drag race car. It was neat and had a turn buckle for fine tuning. Illegal accoring to NHRA tch rules!

Just go with the newer fail safe mounts
