The loss of any racer is tragic, and the fact that he was, by all accounts, well-liked and a good person just makes it that much worse. I never knew Lamont, but I pray that everyone involved can find peace in this dark time. This should be a wake-up call for everyone here because MIR is probably the safest track around, and if it can happen there, it can happen anywhere.
FMJ, in Maryland, the police have to investigate all accidental deaths as a homicide, so they will have to identify the cause at some point.

If at most, maybe a thorough and concise evaluation of the accident can be revealed so that we as racers can have hind site and prevent such accidents in the future. The potential for avoiding is in the details. Case in point, just knowing that another colleague of mine blew a freeze out plug at the stripe, keeps me checking the plugs in my car more religiously then before. I know that grudge cars can be highly compromised by virtue of their intended use, but common sense and safety checks should prevail on all of our cars. With out continuing on this condolences thread, I'm sure that Lamont would want us to be careful to the fullest. R.I.P
It's obvious what killed him, he was ejected from the car. That can't happen if you want to live. Something was not 100%, either his seat or his belts were installed or worn incorrectly or he had a substandard seat in the car. IMO
BTW you looking at your core plugs is doing nothing to help keep them in. Screws should be used.
