Got the front rebuilt. I normally would have bolted the motor to it first and drop the car on but i needed to get it rolling to take down for headliner install. Probably just drop the motor in from top now and boot tranny on from underneath. The k frame had one heck of a nice dent right in the middle from what i assume was from a balancer dropping on it.

And last for now, just a pic of the car outside. Still some wet sanding and buffing to do though.
Dyno coming up soon and then probably freshen up the rear as well.

More progress. Just sent out a bunch of stuff to instrument specialty to get redone.

Also dynoed the motor. 426 hp and 491 tq. Not shabby for a stockish motor we played with the timing, jetting and different things and this was the best compromise. did see tq get up to 498 and hp did hit 435 at one point. also, the dyno guy wasn't the best at spelling...

Soo today we painted up the motor and started putting some stuff back on. Funny story, had some paint from Frank Battleson left over and ran short. I had some persion orange and IH red on hand so i mixed the 2 together and got it to match (from what i can tell) perfectly.

The reason I mentioned exhaust is because it would be a shame to choke up such a strong runner. After discussions with some of the PSMCDR 6 pack front runners, I went with the tried and true 2.5" mandrel bent TTI with Dynomax ultraflows and couldn't be happier. I'd bet that my exhaust, with HP manifolds, flows better than the stock 2.25" compression bent pipes with baffle type stock mufflers and headers. A good muffler shop can probably do a decent job on the 2.5" pipes, but I'd strongly recommend the Ultraflows. Here's a video of mine; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ofma0go-jJk Dave

That sounds pretty sweet! I had tti 2.5 and ultraflos on my 71 fast 340 runner amd was very happy too, but my dad will probably have a hard time splurging for them. Ill try and swade him either way.

Still been working on the runner, just seems like its been a lot of stuff not worth posting about. Pulled the dana out to give it a good cleaning and repaint. Took the cover off and everything looked like new yet. After all, it did come out of an a12 in the mid 70's with low miles!

The leaf springs were rebuilt as well. As mentioned earlier, this isnt going o be a 100 pt show winner, but a nice driver. Hence the reason we painted the springs..

Got the rear back under the car with new rubber on it. 255/60/15 in the back, 225/60/15 in the front. The trim rings are wheel vintiques (sp?) of course there is the gap in the middle but there doesnt seem to be a better alternative other than track down expensive originals.
