Thanks Jared, we were down to the last minute putting Stephen's car together, and it responded really well.
Congrats to the Westcotts on another commanding performance. The bullet in Hebert's car looks to be a pretty good piece!
I want to publicly thank and congratulate Mr. Hebert for this weekend. He trusted us to build this car, and he did not see it in person until he arrived at our shop Monday evening. We loaded it and brought it to Vegas, and it hadn't moved under it's own power until Charlie took it to the staging lanes for it's first hit. I can personally vouch (although I am biased) that John Holt is the baddest there is. We didn't take the hood off of that blue car all weekend, and it ran up and down like a bracket car.
Thanks to the Painters for a great show, Nitro Joe for all his hard work, the WCH for such great hospitality and all the racers for the great racing.
Congrats to my friend Mr. Pancake, too, on another consistent showing making it to the semis.
Spyphish just home in SW La. via La-Ohio-Vegas-Ohio-La ( I am tired). Everyone very nice to me as the NEW rookie. Took Bales place, Ha!. As for the Holts, Geico lizard could have put that car down the track. I tried to do a burnout in neutral, killed the motor next. BOOM-SHAKA-LAKA number 2 Q on cold tires. Later a 71 with idle start, 1.25 60'. Pancake called it Bad [Edited by Moparts - Keep it clean]!
As for CWJ, babysat me all weekend, shook it down, checked bearings, valves twice. I think I will keep him. A pro!
Thank you again Mr. Pancake as he hauled us out, used his tools and food etc. All clean fun. And of course Painter/Nitro. Goodnight!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice article, and the Southland guys are here. Very helpful to me.
Ben, still doing baby leaves and shifts but tell John I have mastered park!! Ha. Story there. Also my name showed up back home (Lake Charles) where a 57 year old Stephen Hebert is in the pending (details to follow)obituaries???????????? I will be 57 in May. Wife called to ask about life insurance....No clue on that but I did think about that as I let go of the button.
I also just learned of the 7/4 plug swap as I ran my 1st valves without Master Westcott. I did have to call him, but Hey! I have a grade point.

Just got a call from Bales at Gateway with the Bullet, went a 8.730 out of the box with a 1.153 60 and 5.48 1/8th with his number two engine. Pretty good for an engine built in 04 I think. I guess the altitude factoring system for vegas was pretty close, a 99 out there equaled a 77 out here. That means CW would go 40's ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shock.gif) Mike

I got a chance to take a look at the Spyfish car. Beautiful car and ran an 8.65 on Saturday. The announcer said it had "Walcott power". Hats off to Mr. Walcott! ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh2.gif) Thanks to the crew member who gave me a guided tour of a top tier SS/AH car. I also got a chance to talk to Gary Moore who had a very nice SS/AH car and he's running a stick. Gary was very nice and spent about 20 minutes talking about the old days of beating Sox in 1974 and some of the "old guard" days. The announcer was telling a tale of Jim Hale's car being there in 1986 then noticed that the car was his Stocker with the 383, not the old Banning & Slaughter Cuda. Hale was running the B&S car with a 383 with a single 4bbl tunnel ram. Not a bad deal to run an older car in GT. The Teutons had two of their cars there, but appeared to have old "bracket" engines in them with old style crossrams.
