Put the Holley anti-slosh vents in your float bowls.

Hi Greg. As stated above, 11 LBS is to high. 7 max should be plenty for your car. Regulator goes between the fuel pump, and the carb. Putting vent tubes on is a good idea, but not really necessary (but go ahead and try them out). Sounds to me like your starving the primary bowl when stopping hard. When you accelerate hard, does the car starve out at high RPMS too? On a carb with glass sights, go to just under, the half way up mark in the glass. If your carb. has the solid screw offs to sight the fuel level, then yes adjust to have the fuel trickle out over the threads is good. I have never needed the vent tubes on my car, and you know how I drive! My carb. is set up as I said above. Never a problem. Good luck, M

If he's running center hung bowls with 11psi it is very possible that on a hard stop the float is being over powered and flooding the engine.
If you want to run a return style regulator, probably a good idea, you can but the regulator still needs to be between the pump and carb.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

I use the basic style of regulator that's just one line in and out. It was less than $10 at the parts house, they all carry them. My setup goes stock mech fuel pump>filter> pressure regulator> carb

I switched back to the Holley pump. It reads no more than 7 lbs, just as suggested.
I may spend the time to install a regulator with the Carter pump sometime later. Thanks everyone!

The Demon has those but I need to replace mine. I dropped the metering block and cracked it a few months back. I didn't expect that it could cause this. Its worth a try anyways, thanks!
