Yes foot brk . Just wondering worth the 550.00 or not for me as far as weight an ET.
Depending on how high you rev at the line the disc MIGHT not hold.... on my Rampage I put drums on the rear just because I will foot brake it(no trans brakes allowed in the class I want to run) ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif)

I had 11 inch drums on my 8 3/4, I switched to Wilwood discs , I weighed everything and came up with a 50 lb savings in weight. I have Wilwoods on the front also , I leave at 2,500 and have left as high as 3,000 and it holds fine on the line.

Aint callen ya a lier, but that number aint happening.
What's not happening? Leave rpm or weight savings?
THat weight savings should be close. My drums alone weight 40# add in the backing plates, pads, slave cyl, and springs, I could easily see 72# like 11sec dart states.
Could Wilwoods rotors/calipers/pads and brackets come in at 22#? Could be, aluminum calipers dont weight that much.

I have the 10in anybody know the diff in weight.
Im thinking about 12# each if I remember right. So Your not going to see that 50# loss.
So you might see 30#, You will need to decide if thats worth $550 bucs to you. Your car is already a light weight, you wont see much ET gain at a 30# loss.
But lets say you need pads, drums and maybe some slave cyl,s and stuff. Financially that would make alot of sense to swap at this time.
For A ET gain alone, not worth it IMO
But you do have a SB. So "You guys" need all the help you can. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif)

I went to Strange rear discs from drums (E body rear w/brakes...don't know what size), saved 37# total.

Unsprung weight is very important and drums are unsprung wht because it is whgt you are dragging around and cant utilize it as a benefit.

Sorry to hijack this thread but i've been thinking of wilwood rear brakes, or swapping my 62# odyssey battery for a 21# braile. Can i counteract the reduction in weight from the rear by softening the extension ? I run afco DA shocks with leaf springs. Mick

I would try it as is... then if you need to you can soften them ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif)

Weight loss is weight loss. Some places are better than others, but like women, it's all good.
I was looking for the weight loss but everything in rear is only like 3 years old. I would also need a new master or the prop valve or both. So now I am up to 700.+ unless I could use my stuff.
