I have purchased a 1947 Dodge half ton pick up. I haven't gone after it yet. I have a few questions. It appears to have vent windows in the doors, I haven't seen very many with this, was it an option? Was the crank out front window in 47 on option or standard? It does have the stainless around the outside front window. Assuming it still has the original engine flathead would it be a 218 or a 230? What gear did they use in these, I had always heard the trucks were geared really steep like 4.30. It has the standard three speed on the floor. I will also be looking for a bed for it if anybody knows of one and probably just get fiberglass fenders. Thanks all. Anybody know of any websites for these trucks, I can't find any. Thanks all

The vent windows were an option. The crank out front glass was standard. I have not seen any with stainless around the front windows tho. It would be a 218 if stock, the last gears I checked out were 488 in a 4 speed truck. B body rears fit well. I will sell you a box comes with a free truck, Check it out in the WIW

Thanks for the info, I was wondering about the what rear would swap into this. The truck wiring harness you used is a good idea. I have a complete one out of a c-body but it had power everything and don't want all the extra wires.

It looks like you have a very good start. I love the patina. Mine will not see paint as long as I own it.
