I wish gas was that cheap in Amarillo, I paid 2.07 fer 87 octane today....is about 1.89 in Oklahoma, or was over the weekend.

Bill

I liked western Canada, was there in the late 80's, went up from Seattle..I did that trip in a 59 Volkswagen bus, Can ya say sloooooow?

I found a 78 extended cab shortbed that has real potential....wonder how one would look with a stepside bed on it?....Opinions?

you didnt say if it is 2 or 4 wd , what motor? i wanted to do that with my truck ,extended cab supershortbed , but i lost the ambition pretty quick, maybe i just need a new job where im not working on cars all day, turn it back into a hobby again instead of a job, so i guess my opinion is , do it !

It is a 2wd, has a/c even, but no power locks or windows....I like the supershort shortbed idea, were ya gonna use a shortbed frame and shorten the bed I assume?...was thinkin of that a while back myself, but hate to butcher a good bed, however it would look really cool. If I were to do it I would use a wide bed to shorten, would be more work I realize, but the end result would be awesome...my version had the inside of the bed as nuttin but tubs, with battery and fuelcell tucked between 'em...has a 440/727 in it.It almost got bought out from underneath me,but the guy felt so bad he let me take it instead...had actually taken the money from the other guy. Glad he understood.
Bill

good to hear someone else thinks like I do.....

It is cool, windy and clear here today, supposed to get a dusting of the white stuff tomorrow. I will be making the final shop load just before Christmas. Then one more of Personal stuff, have gotten rid of most of that, as we already have a full housefull there in Oklahoma.
And Webster, you are right, it is what life is about, having friends and family this time of year more than any other.

That's not the "commitee look", it's the 73-87 Chevy PU look! Around here, anyway!

Nothing to see here. Carry on.

The patchwork look detracts from the overall value of the vehicle, but it isn't always feasible to do otherwise, untill the funds are availible.
some times the spray bomb primer even looks better.

it is a 440 but 72 really isnt the best year isnt there alot of smog issues ? but with some machine work and other changes it shouldnt be too bad , you can do anything if you just set your mind too it , you would have sending unit differences a bit of wiring crap to deal with but all in all it shouldnt be bad most of those things need to be delt with on any swap

Go for it!!!I dont know what exaust manifolds the motor home units have, but headers are available. I lucked out and found a set of factory manifolds in a salvage yard. I used mounts from a 400 truck.....
