Jimmy my heart goes out to you ,along time of love and labor and passion into building that car .I know how that is and hope I never have it happen to me.Step back for awhile and regroup.Enjoy the holidays with the family (what really counts) and then being the new year on a fresh start.Whatever direction you go ,just follow your heart and don't look back ,just be thankful you are still here,even tough cars are like family they can be rebuilded GOOD LUCK and hope things work out for you and just holla if you need help I'm not to far away to lend a hand if needed.

WOW I just saw this and when I first saw the headline I thought I would check it out then I noticed who posted it- Thats just aweful Jimmy, im really sorry to hear this happen. Im glad you are OK and the fire department saved the car, and as bummed out as you are, you seem to be in at least good spirits and going forward to re-build it. Good luck and I hope by the learning experiences of these disasters it becomes one safe and enjoyable vehicle. Greg

It sucks, but don't give up on it. If anything, just take a break from it. That's what I do with the funny cars!

Good to see it's being looked at from a "learning curve" among other things- make that beast better than it was, and figure out how to prevent it.

I'm feelin for ya. It was a GORGEOUS car, it still is a GORGEOUS car, and it will be back on the road as GORGEOUS as ever.

Man, i'm sorry to see what happened to you car. It was definitely a beautifully detailed ride.
If I can offer any advice to you, here it is...don't make any snap decisions, take your time and sort things out first. It may not be as bad as you think! You had lots of time in that car and I know how it hurts to see things like this happen but don't do anything you may regret later. Like I did! I had the same thing happen to me a couple of years ago. Had worked really hard to get my car running good, put a new costly paint job on it, went to the track and bammm, it went up in flames. My first reaction was to get rid of it and buy another car, which I did. It was an ok decision but not the smartest thing to do. I should have slowed down got it apart and looked at what it would take to put it back together. I could have saved myself alot of money and valuable time. It looked bad but I could have fixed and updated real easy but I didn't give things a chance.
Whatever you decide to do will be right for you, but take your time...and keep reminding yourself that sh*t happens! You will be back!

Jimmy, there is no doubt about your dedication and commitment to this project. Rebuild and learn from your mistakes. I feel sorry for the loss of progress however.

Jimmy, I have no idea how in the world I missed this yesterday. I feel like such an a$$ from the initial part of my call last night. I really thought you were pulling my leg at first. Man first off I am so glad you are ok. The car can be fixed. And I know it will. But the most important thing is that you and the kids are all ok. You know how to get a hold of me when the time comes and you know I'll do every thing I can to help you out when you get ready to do what your going to do. Take it easy and call me if you need to talk or what ever man!

It's ok just another bump in the road. It will be about march before it is ready again.
