welds turned out ok, I just turned up the ol miller and burned it in hot.

Settings & welds look pretty good. No fear in them breaking off.
(FYI small amount of undercut on the ends but nothing to worry about)
Welds look better then some of the guys on the floor here at work that put food on the table welding!

Ive been welding since I was 9, Dad tought me everything I know, then went to college for the paperwork.

Yeah, a lil cut, but thats nothing too worry about. I built John Deere tool bars, and planter parts for a few years.

Got hurt at a steel mill and went to mechanics which Ive also been doing since I could cry, Dad also to blame for that LOL!!

Miss him every day

Tucson AZ,
Where did you come up with the axle tube flanges? Brand? Cost? On a Dana they would not slip over but be a butt weld instead is that correct? I thought the Dana's or a least some had a larger tube diameter.

Very nice work by the way. You should post up a complete picture of your car sometime, can't recall ever seeing one.

No housing end is a slip over, I thought that to, but if ya think about it if theres any differance in the true center of the diffy compared to the housing there wold be no adjustment. The butt fit is adjustable which is why you see an offset compared to the flange to housing.

Tucson AZ,
I see it now, on my phone it looked like a slip fit. That would answer 75% of my original question. I thought you stumbled onto some fancy housing end I had never come across. Stupid SmartPhone...
