Like Jim say's you need 330 with a heavy car. I've listed no ET till now due that exact fact. Though it's got MPH the ET is slow. Loses it all in the begining 1.345/3.843/5.926@117.75/9.257@147.71 as you can see. I believe this to be a result of 4.10 and a converter thats a little tight. For what it's worth the track wasn't the best this day. It's been 1.318/3.814/5.903@117.75 It doesn't run large tires either 10.5Wx31 Shift at 6800,traps about 6900. Replacing the gear with a 4.30, loosening the converter, and lightening up the trans. Lookin to go 9.0?

I have a question for some of the dyno stuff on here. While dynos are cool and the numbers are fun they mean nothing to me unless you put it in a car and show me some results. I would like to see what Andy's mill could do in a car at the strip. Dynos are a great tool but not the all end all. As I tell people all the time a good dyno number is great, but 1320' of racetrack can be a very humbling place. Just sayin...

I don't see a -1 headed 500" stock block deal running 8's at that weight without some RPM. It is certainly doable but it is going to take some serious thought and a well working car. Just saying in my experience I do not see a 7200rpm 500" stock block(small bore)engine getting a car that heavy into the 8's. Well at least not without some help. It is not as easy to run an 8 in anything let alone something pulling that kind of weight with a small bore and limit head. Not without some serious RPM anyway.

FWIW I have been 9.0's at 3470 with a stock block B1 deal. Nothing exotic for sure but there is a good deal more head flow on the B1's than the -1's. Never was dynoed but was a basic 512" deal. Shifted at 7800 through the lites t 8000. Not a completely optimized deal but ran well for what it was. One last tidbit a 9.30 is a LONG way from 8.99. Especially with the "limitations" listed. Not impossible by any means if you are willing to do what it takes.

I agree 9.30 to 8.99 will not be an easy trek. Nibble away a little at a time.
