When I got to the point of working on it, it also had bent pushrods on number 1 and 3 cylinders. I got into it and it had dropped a valve on number 3 and busted the piston and the block. Matt Pistons look good with just some light marks by a couple of valves. It was in a big Chrysler 300 so I'm guessing timing chain jumped and it died an easy death, nothing catastrophic. My 71 barracuda with a 383-2bbl had timing that was all over the map. Pulled the pan and found it full of nylon chips. Pulled the timing chain cover and the nylon gear blank had razor sharp teeth as the nylon coating was gone. Substantial timing back lash. Cleaned the motor best I could, put in a TRW double roller timing chain and sprocket set (all metal) and kept on going.
