'70 'Cuda 340/auto ragtop - Nov '69 build - no rear bar
'71 Challenger R/T 383 auto - Sept '70 build - front/rear bars
'71 Challenger R/T 383 4-speed - Sept '70 build - front/rear bars
'71 Challenger 340 4-speed convertible - December '70 build - front/rear bars
'71 Challenger 340 3-speed - Aug '70 build - don't remember
'73 'Cuda 340/auto - front/rear bars
'74 'Challenger rallye - 318/auto - front/rear bars
'74 Challenger Rallye - 360/4-speed - front/rear bars

There have been many others, but I don't necessarily remember whether they had the rear sway bars or not, save for any of the Dana equipped cars (which did not)

1970 340 Cuda with a July build date and it has a rear sway bar. I think they may have started putting them on the late build 340 cars in 1970.

Don't mean to sidetrack the original post, but does anyone know why a dana equipped car would not have gotten a rear bar?

jess

Yeah, it's hopped up to over 160...

Likely because the spring rates/configuration were different from side to side (with the extra leafs on the right)

71-2 b-body cars with danas did get rear swaybars, and the bars were specific to dana, it differed from the 8-3/4 bar

i think the 440 and hemi e-bodies were considered drag cars and the 340/383 more of a handling car

but from what we can tell from all of the input,
it appears very late build june of 70 and later cars had them,

probably developed for the aar and t/a, but then added to other cars afterwards??

thank you for all of the input

Cool topic As said, the "handling" cars were supposed to get the rear sway bars (340 a66 and T/A's) The 340 A66 cars did not get them till after the first of the year. The T/A's got them from the start, near as I can tell. You get what you pay for•••

My AAR of course has both, I have a build sheet from another AAR and it has a 1 in the S3 section but nothing in the S4 section.
