on small blocks between 600-700hp dominators on adaptors seem to work better than bolting the dom directly to the intake.

Me personally, I have NEVER seen this to be the case on a small or a big block. Now, it might make more power with the adapter, BUT, it is not because of the adapter, it is because the adapter adds plenum volume in most cases. You could accomplish the same thing by having your manifold fixed for a Dominator and then just using a nice spacer under the carb. Work just as well AND gain a little more hood clearance, as a 1" spacer is probably all you would need.

On the Mopar's big blocks, the 2" adapter for a Dominator to a 4150 has been proven to add 10-15hp...Yes it adds plenum, but in back to back tests, many on here have seen it. All the way back to when Team G was the intake to have on a nice stroker 440 Wedge engine...On the small blocks I have not seen this, but on a big inch small block, more plenum is certainly needed on most of today's intakes.

But just the same, some of us already had a 4150 intake and now need a Dominator, so we make it work.

I pulled the intake off the Hemi today and made it all fit the SV1, with and without the tapered spacer...I did not do a before and after picture, but there was a lot of meat that had to come out and its cold enough out today the die grinder froze solid in my hands...Air compressor must have had a little condinsation in it.

With a little time and effort and some hand tools, it can still be done...I already ported the Wedge intake to fit, but took it down to the shop for some heavy milling on the efi bosses to remove them. Figured, if I am going to clean it up, might as well go the whole way this time...

The SV1 was purchased for the big wedge, but I also want to try it on the Hemi...The Hemi was also running yesterday with a 4150 on, while the wedge is still a couple of weeks away. Lots of winter fun...At least its not -2° like last week...
