Glad to hear S&S is back at Gateway and JJ is back at NTR. The Monster 10.5 Mopar at Indy was very poorly managed and many of us weren't planning on going back.

I'm glad A.J.Casini brought a Mopar race back to Pittsburgh Raceway Park with a second one being at Quaker City. Monster Mopar could have been a great series but it is riding on the reputation others have built. Norwalk always had a GREAT show but the series is now lacking communication. Before I retired I had to pick my vacation in early November so I had to really plan my race schedule early. Luckily I have a motor home but I don't know how guys can get a room if everything is up in the air.

1970 Duster
Edelbrock headed 408
5.984@112.52
422 Indy headed small block
5.982@112.56 mph
9.38@138.67

Livin and lovin life one day at a time

Maybe with the new A.J./BGR series, Jeff Johnson having Columbus again, and an event coming back to Gateway the Mopar racing community is now too whored up for MM to have an event

416 stroker from Nick at Compu-flow. 11.14 in full street trim. Seems like a new best every time out.
11.06 open headers----so far!!

Maybe that was the whole idea. You need to understand the whole picture.

My 2 cents, Monster Mopar Sunday, which it was originally called, then later changing to Monster Mopar Weekend, because 1 day wasn't enough, originated in St Louis and that is where it belongs, just like it was for the 1st 26 years. I wonder if all these other shows will still be going in 26 years? Scott, you did a great job then and now, Thank you for bringing our show home!

Thats my thought Most of you never been to STL for MMW race its the longest running MOPAR race Fact is alot you never been Joshs events .

Whored up events look at past posts from several years ago one promotor in another promotor garage police involved ,racers getting short changed on payouts .

KilKare would be better than Lyons. Lyons is an AWESOME race facility but there are few hotels close cause its in the middle of farmland. Since so many of you would be traveling it would be a bad deal. Hearing great things about KilKare tho since its been redone.

Pros: New racing surface. Very nice. They've spent allot of money cleaning the place up and it looks nice.
New timing system.
Cons: They've spent allot of money on fences and gates, its kinda hard to get around the place once inside.
You can't really see the racing action from the new staging lanes. There's a 12am -10am curfew on the weekends. You can't even start a race engine between those hours let alone race down the track. They had trouble finishing races last year because of this.
Alcohol must be purchased from the track and consumed in their "beer garden". Don't get caught with beer at your trailer out you will get kicked out. This could be a problem at a weekend race where people tend hang out after racing is over and camp.
Track runs 8th mile for all classes except sportsman due to a fairly short shut down area. (which may out may not be a problem with people)
Also tech is pretty strict(which can be a good thing) make sure you're up to date on certs, Licenses, belts ect.

The beer thing might kill that track if they have
3 day events(or over night camping).. I know I wouldnt
go if they start kicking out racers due to that

Great News!!!

From the Monster Mopar Facebook page.

"In case you can't make it to Indy Trade show or have not heard yet. Breaking news.. there WILL be 2 MMW shows this year.. While we wanted to do Indy, things just did not work out, so we will visit Xena, OH and Kil-Kare Drag Strip June 28-29.

Stay tuned as we will have updates soon on hotels, etc.

And don't forget Norwalk, OH is still 2nd week in September."

Most of the crowd I know said that the no beer in the pits rule means that they won't be going to Kilkare.

Seriously?? I do believe I can leave the beer at home for a weekend with out any ill effects.
