It's not actually Monster Mopar Weekend. That name belongs to Josh King. The use of that name by anyone but Josh would start a lawsuit. What was posted on Facebook. Quote:
Eric Paul The original monster Mopar type event is back on for 2014 sept 5-7 weekend after labor day . Talked with Scott from s&s promotions and he wants to rally the troops and structure everything the way it originally was $$$$$ I was wanting to let everyone know so we can all support the show with force so it doesn't go away again. He has already stated that most sponsors all back on board but looking for racers and vendors to return with force to help keep this show for another 25 years
Notice that it says "The original monster Mopar type event"
It doesn't say that it's Monster Mopar.
Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

You're proving what studies say about people only process what they want to read in statements that are written.
It says, "The original monster Mopar type event is back on for 2014 sept 5-7."
From tht statement it means that it will be put on like Monster Mopar originally was.
It does not say anywhere in the text that it is a M/Mopar event.
Monster Mopar is done differently now, which is as expected since it's a different promoter (Josh King).
It wasn't posted anywhere by Scott Sievking, it was posted by Eric Paul on Facebook and is what is supposed to have been stated to him by Scott verbally. Which means that it isn't necessarily exactly what Scott said word for word.
Eric made a comparison to of this new unnamed event to the original M/Mopar (which was put on by Scott prior to selling the rights to Josh King).
It's supposed to be being put on Scott but at this time Scott has made no public announcements about there even being an event. For now it's simply a rumor, but if you're from the St.Louis area you'd have to be crazy to not hope it's true.
Is St.Louis supposed to not have a Mopar Event if it isn't Monster Mopar?
Should people from St.Louis have to drive at least 4+ hours to Gateway or Memphis to go to a Mopar event?
I'm planning on going to Monster Mopar in Indy in June. For Norwalk I'll have to see if it's in the budget, it's a longer trip than going to the Mopar Nationals (aka The Nats now) (which we're going to).
I want there to be Mopar Event at all the places and will go to all I can (within the budget). I hope all the promoters make money so we can keep going as many races as we can.
Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

cool hope to make it this year. thanks for the info mopar65
No disrespect to Josh but Why would he want to keep sponcering Mopar Week end or what ever its called when and using his own words loses money on every event. Who ever ran this past years race at Gateway it was a total bust,We see more cars on a wensday test and tune then at that race, the year beforeyou could not find a parking spot, Great Cars

Well, we were part of the Mopar Action series in STL until just recently I guess. Mopar Action di(n)cked that up so bad last year that it was ridiculous. NOBODY knew about it except for just a few. Tiny car show and swap meet compared to MMW and they let Chevys and Fords race on Saturday night. http://www.moparaction.com/megamoparactionseries/index.htmlNO PROMOTION WAS DONE. E-booger do you read this forum? I was going to give them a call soon but now they've moved the race.

Let me clear this up. I did NOT talk to Scott directly but here are the facts. My source has been in contact with Scott about this event. He indicated several of the original sponsors are onboard and that it will happen on the same weekend that it always did. The hope is to have the same payout and structure that it always did. I was asked to help spread the word. The more people know about it the better so that there is not a repeat of the poorly attended event that Mopar Action put on last year. Gateway doesnt have their schedule up yet so perhaps it will be on there when the schedule is posted. I will be informed when more information is available and I will post the facts that I know. While we are on the subject of Monster Mopar and track schedules, Indy has posted their schedule and no Monster Mopar is currently on the schedule. I hope this is a goof cause I love that event.

No signed contract for September Monster Mopar Weekend at Gateway
Claims on the Internet by some parties that there is a “signed contract” with Gateway Motorsports Park for the return of the iconic Monster Mopar Weekend Mopar-only event the second weekend in September has caused a great deal of buzz and plan-making in the Mopar community. However, it definitely isn’t true. According to Chris Blair, Senior Vice President – Business Development, Racing Operations and Promotions for the Madison, Illinois, motorsports facility, as of Jan. 4, 2014, he has no contract signed for a “Monster Mopar” Weekend event.
the above was posted on Drag Racing Online..
