Okay. Let me rephrase about "Their service is next to none" There was a time during a strict deadline build I was doing. The CalTrac's I recieved came in the wrong length, wrong bushings and wrong diameter nuts for the U bolts. To make a long story short, I called Calvert's to see what I could do to make them work. Apparntly the wrong parts in the correct package??? and there was no time whatsoever to send them back for the correct ones. John himself got on the horn and stayed on the phone with me until about 10 pm his time until the bars were right. I was taking the measurements he needed, he was calculating bar lengths, I was cutting and welding while he stayed there at his shop till all was right whereas he could have been home having supper with his family. Know anyone else who would do that? Luckily I had some bushings laying around that worked along with the proper nuts. He appoligized for the inconvenience and I said no problem and thanked him again for his help by staying on with me till the job was done. He told me he'd send me the proper bushings and nuts which I told him that he didn't have to, but low and behold the very next day a package came with bushings and nuts. I think the shipping charges were around $80 or so. So my hat is off to Calvert Racing...Their service is next to none

I recommend using them with the calvert mono springs only. I tried Cal-tracs with mopar super stock springs....and they did NOT work..at all...with many , many adjustments. i was the guinea pig..buy the calvert leafs !

Those are a nice looking piece and I like the ability to do "finer adjustments." But is the information I heard of them only wanting to sell these to HIGH HP (read 800+) cars wrong? My buddy just ordered a set for his 6.0 LS turbo project and they are good quality.

Thanks Monte, I'll take a look. This car has original XHD springs and snubber. I know it should hook w/ SS but I'd rather not have the butt end "hill-jacked" Plus I will be adding HP in years to come. 150 shot this year and probably a stroked boosted BB at some point down the road. I hoping for 10.30's w/ the 150 shot if all goes well.

All traction devices, be it Cal-Traks, the Smith bars or just old fashion slapper bars, are designed to do the same thing. Stiffen the front segment and prevent spring wrap. The famed Super Stock spring did the same thing. Stiff in the front and weak in the back, is the reason cars extend so much with them. SS springs are NO better than what you have, if you "stack" it right. You can build your own spring that acts like a SS spring, by stacking front segments and removing rears. You want the front as stiff as it can be and just enough in the back for the car to ride where you want it.
That said, if your goal is to stiffen the front segment for traction, it will not matter if the car makes 400hp or 1000hp, your goal is the same. So the Smith bars will be fine.

Monte, what is the "starting point" on those bars? seems they have a good amount of adjustment on them. FWIW my 1st race car has South Side Machine lift bars.... (no longer in production)

Depending on the torque you make but I would start with the rear of the bar low in the bracket and the front midway up the bracket... the rear at the low point will give the bar the most movement forward to give the most available lift.. but the front at midway will reduce that some... this should apply a good amount of lift to the front spring eyelet

I bought mine direct from Calvert. $339.00 for the caltracs & another $339.00 for the mono leafs for my Challenger. Originally the messed up & sent me the incorrect A body lower tubular bars. Re-sent the correct E body lower bars at no charge & told me to keep the incorerect A body bars. Great customer service.
