Time will tell but it went lean at 6000 rpm`s so I stopped there, jetted up and will test tomorrow for some street race action this weekend...........

Have you gotten any solid passes in with the long leafs to see how they work. Is your car now 3050 with a driver and how much do you weight?

I am curious what you used to cut such nice slots/holes in the back of the scoop as it looks good. Ron

Went 6.20 @ 111.17 in the 1/8th w/a crappy 1.42 60 in hot conditions on old tires so we`ll get slicks and try again........I run old 5-way Ranchos and I weigh 160 lbs. so the 3050 is full cell(12 gal. w/me).

383man, I drilled the holes on top then tear dropped em w/an alum. porting burr for whatever crazy reason.............

Your car has a "NO BULLSH1T" vibe like no other, Dom. I like it a lot! The cut fenderwells, the "bigs 'n littles, the slight petina, the rollbar, the fenderwell header exhaust, the big scoop.... It all goes together real well! And the fact that it backs up the look and then some.... gotta love it!

How do you like the 25" front segment? Would you do it again? Looking for ideas to get my car to hook better.

Again, I went faster/quicker(barely)in hot conditions on wore out tires so time will tell......... I took the pics and my friend Chris posted em but he`ll show me how for next time....... Apparently our local tracks are closed now but not sure when they`ll be open again and after much thaught a cowl will most likely be a no-go..........

Yours appears to be a bit closer but not sure. Have you tried an air cleaner to smooth things out?

that's a 1/4 of the carb you're looking at on 67fans pict Dom... not air cleaner. I had that same issue on the Mirada. Couldn't run a air cleaner of any kind unless a taller hood was in order. That was also the reason we went cowl on the Duster. The Indy intake and adapter for the 4500 had things quite a ways up there.

I have another intake on the way with a 4500 flange and maybe use a 1 in spacer to see if the result change

Can you do any port grinding yourself... if you have
a air or electric grinder you could have your currant
intake cut for a 4500 then you could blend it in...
this manifold shown was the first W-9 type ever poured
and it was ROUGH... I ended up doing it to a 4500
base and porting it... it was easier to cut it in
half to do the port work then weld it back together

Thanks, see why you can't go higher now. By looking it seems mine is a little higher.

I screwed up by not mounting my box higher and I`m locked into it for now but if it doesn`t work I`ll cut the frame out and start over w/three different holes for some adjustability..........

still waiting for our resident fiberglass Dr to offer his "expertise" in the ultimate design hood for your car.....

I'm sure he is too busy ragging on the "Street Outlaws" guys somewhere to be bothered with such trivial pursuits..........LOL!!!

Monte

Some from NewYark iNformed me of this .....

As long as this scoop is not in DEAD air (or even worse) air that is severely turbulent OR negative pressure(aka a VACUUM) you are OK with most picks ... just choose the one that you like best. You cant miss though with a 68 SS Hemi scoop.

Now as far as me ragging on the Monkey outLAWS ? ... can't I have some fun ??....
