Dipstick modification..

I used a piece of wire to make a template of sorts to I could pattern the bends/modifications to the OEM dipstick tube to accommodate the headers. I think it came out pretty good... Not touching the header tubes and the dipstick can be inserted just fine..........

Alright guys,,,,,, You know what I mean...

I have since, after this picture was taken, adjusted it some more so it is more vertical for battery tray clearance... It was brought to my attention on the proximity of the handle to the battery tray..

Saturday:
rearranged the garage exchanging parking of my friend's Superbee and my Daytona. Here's where I start today. Front suspension is pretty much out if the way. I will remove the lower control arms and torsion bars, exhaust, then position the dolly under the kmember and tranny. I will get the cherry-picker so I can lift the front of the car high enough to slide the drivetrain out..

Sunday:
Whew !!!!! What a stressful operation out of one's garage. I was able, after a couple of trails and "well, that's not going to work" and a VERY slow-going mode of operation, to successfully remove the 440/727 drive train.. I was extra anal and slow about it all. I would assess a situation, come up with a solution, complete the task and clean up. I found keeping a clean and orderly workfloor made for a less chaotic event. There were a couple of times I wondered, "What the heck am I doing?" Shoot, one of the steps to remove the steering column, as easy as a task it is normally, turned out to be a big pain in the butt. Dang lock pin was NOT going to come out easily.... But, I prevailed.. One observation will be to get lower profile casters so the dolly won't be so high.... Now, time to replace fuel and brake lines, remove/replace brake booster ( hemi-version ) and etc.... I will separate the 727 soon and have it rebuilt. I am tired !!!! Church, lunch with the family, and 440 removal,, the end of a busy day.....

Another dolly. As some mentioned, I particularly didn't feel right about the dipstick tube positioned where I had it before, so rebend the tube and positioned it between 1 and 2 tubes. I believe this will be just right. It clears the steering gear box rather well. It also doesn't touch the tube, even with the white sheath on it. The gearbox is testing fitted right now, I will have to remove it to get the headers out so I can install the mini-starter once I mate the tranny. Then, I will install the 90 degree high pressure fitting on the gearbox

Installed the hemi power brake booster assembly from Wayne.. Looks great. I have all new lines and valves as well.

I found a COMPLETE front Bendix caliper rebuild kit to include all new pistons, seals and springs. Here I have one caliper all cleaned and honed.

Last of the brakes for awhile... I'll get new drum hardware later on and rebuild the wheel cylinders since they are the originals I believe. Regardless, I'll freshen them up. I also have a new set of pads. As you, I use the Blue Racing Brake Fluid due to the increased temperatures in the engine compartment of the Nose-cone car. I am hoping with the TTI ceramic coated ( internal and external ) and the exhaust being further down, my engine compartment temperatures will decrease substantially. Those cast iron 440 HP manifolds put out some heat...

The other thing I did was remove the OEM .92 original torsion bars and replaced them with the .96 MP versions. I'll duplicate the brown paint swabs on the torsion bars.

Let us know how those work out for you. I need to upgrade the spindly stock bars in my Coronet and thinking about the .96 ones
