Is anyone using a 14 in. wheel/tire combination in a mini-tubbed B body? I am currently using a 12 in Centerline Autodrag wheel with a Goodyear 31/14.0.15 slick.I have no problems with clearance but I wear out my sidewalls quickly(30 passes). I have been told that going to a 14 in wheel would give me a flatter footprint as well as allowing more tire pressure which would save the sidewalls. They do make a 32 in. stiff sidewall Goodyear but I don't think that will fit. I don't want to waste money buying the 14. in Centerline($300 EACH) to find out. I saw in an earlier post that the Percy tool could give me a good idea if the tire/wheel will fit but there is nothing better than having someone who is already doing this let me know.
Thanks Mike

I would consider using a 10.5W on your existing wheel. You will get a nice footprint with your existing 12 inch room. 14 would be hard to pull off on a mini tub car.

Find a tire with a stiff sidewall and run tubes if you can. You sidewalls will last longer. If my tires only lasted 30 runs i'd be in the poor house.

I would suggest the 10.5W as well

"Find a tire with a stiff sidewall and run tubes if you can. You sidewalls will last longer. "

I should have mentioned that I do run tubes. Goodyear does not make a stiff sidewall in the 31/14.0.15 slick.

That is why I am trying to find a solution to my problem

Do you think a 10.5W is enough for 900 HP A3600 lbs.?

Thanks Mike

31x10.5W Has been proven to take a lot more power than that.

3068W is the part number you want.

I run consistent mid 9.30@146, 3345lbs, with 10.5W31 on a 10"rim w/o tubes. Been 9.25@147.6. Still same 60 after 90 passes. Low 1.30s with no spin on a foot brake.

Maybe I should not be afraid of going to a smaller tire to solve my problem
Thanks Mike
