You do not have a better design. How could I attach my plastic dash bezels to make it look stock to your flat dash?
The way you talk about your competitors dash and the poor quality, in your first post. Makes me scared that you are making a mold of this and selling it, just going to be poor also. Not to mention that seems like a poor business practice, ripping off the design of another company. Just shows me what type of person you are.
Yes he asked what was out there in the market and you replied in November that you had one. It is march and you still have yet to copy the other product you are ripping off. So I guess he needed to do this because he has his already and you still don't. Now he comes back on and wants to see if people are still interested in a dash, because he has a product in hand and is happy with quality, and you spout off about yours being better and cheaper. Just to let you in on a secret you need to produce a product before you can declare it better. Good luck to you copying someone else's work, I have already placed my order.
OK .....so HIS part will be a better part for you. That is fine. But what you want to do with the dash is way-diff than what ALL people(I am aware of) that want a FG dash. Your need is diff ... but I have never heard before someone wanting to put in a OEM cluster. THAT is a very heavy piece itself .... why not save the money and just keep what you have?
And I am NOT simply copying someone's part letter-for-letter AT ALL. Ripping-off a competitor's design? LOOK at another topic here .....about a new cyl head. ....
....and most any FG part that ANYone makes is a "rip" or someone's basic "design". One of the largest operations in the country ....Unlimited ... how many of those parts were THEIR design? ..... Very VERY few !!
And also ...in November ...I did not say I had one .... and again .. he never acknowledged the fact that I had plans to make one ... so it was his intent on building his own. Making FG parts is not rocket-science ... come-on-in ...the water is fine !!
That is cool .... BRING IT .... and if my initial order is 30 parts ... there will be MORE savings ....
...and the people here will benefit. You don't want to ? ....Fine.
Well since I ordered two from Chris I guess he has outsold your dash already. In November you stated your in production, with none produced to date and no mold done. If Chris was waiting for you to make one he would be still waiting, like the guy you have been stringing along. I will install a gutted factory speedo assembly and use double sided tape to attach the rest of the bezels so I feel that it should lose a good bit of weight and still look like a street car. So why don't you worry about making a dash for your one customer you have and not worry about what other people are doing. If you truly make a better product it will rise to the top by it self and you wouldn't have to come on here and proclaim it better with none produced. It seems you step in all the fiberglass posts and say how good you are but don't have any products to prove it. Talk is cheap.

Mr. P - The dashes will be shipped from Zip Code 90621. To answer your 1st question...... After reading all of this nonsense, not sure why I am going to continue, but, I will continue with my plan to build these, as I do not want to let anyone down. Having said that (As I stated in my prior post), if the new dashes do not come out to my liking, they WILL NOT be shipped, as, once again, I don't want to let anyone down. This is supposed to be about enjoying our hobby. I feel that I am "Filling a gap"...Nothing more, nothing less. To my friends, "Thank you", for the kind words. As I stated before, I don't get on this board too much anymore, so, you will not see me trading jabs with anyone. Life is too short, gentlemen. I will respond to each and every one of you, in a PM. I totally agree, and appreciate this Chris.
All these pissing matches remind me why I left the board a few years back, it seemed better for a while but between this and all the NA guys bashing the power adder guys, its like a PG rated YB...without the humor...

I will ask you again for the third or fourth time now, where can I view your fiberglass products? That's a valid question that you have danced around every time I've asked.
I have not DANCED AROUND anything .... and yours is not a "legit" question at all because you KNOW what happened to my business in Detroit.
YOU follow me around like a little puppy-dog ..... and YOU KNOW that I don't have an active business now. And I have NO PARTS in current production .... and you know that.
BUTT I will bet that you have access to one of my old catalogs ...and can SEE the parts that I once made. What made my parts UNIQUE was the custom NO CHARGE bracing on hoods and other parts that needed same. Something that some fiberglass companies would not even discuss with their customers. I even made parts with aluminum and even mag bracing.
And I do NOT have an old catalog ... I wish I did.

As a person from essentially the outside of the racing community and sold my car and all that junk years ago, I have to say I enjoy for the most part reading topics in THIS section of the forum even though I rarely partake in it. That doesn't mean I still don't have toys I still buy various parts for though. Over the years I have read the rants, and elusive nature to knowing people in the business and having a great business at one time, and promises of making parts again that never seem to materialize from Mister Doc Fiberglass. All with no explination on his part. And quite frankly, if you are what "others" in the industry that you "know" so well agree with you, then I would like the name of those companies, along with whatever name your current company is to add to the list of places I will never buy parts from due to "bad attitude". And I (and I believe others) would not be heart broken if you followed them and didn't post anymore. Yea, I am being a little of a keyboard quaterback, I have no stake in this what so ever as far as purchasing, I guess that makes me a S?!thead because I have no idea what I am talking about. You can attack me all you want, I am just posting my observations from a outsider, and If I was new here, I would leave just because of this thread--but I am not new, and not leaving. Oh, and in before the lock goes on

Oh, and in before the lock goes on
Doesn't THIS say it all ? ... IN before the .... THIS is why so few people in the automotive performance industry partake in conversations on most ANY of these forums ... and WHY do I answer you ? .. because I want to show-all how you avoid the truth and twist the facts to TRY and suit yourself.
THROW MUD ...with no basis ... and stand back ... BUTT your stance and "verbalizations" are not based-in-FACT.
YOU have been following me around like a little puppy-dog TOOOO ? ... .... I will take-care of your attempted TRASHING line by line.
NO explanation on my part ? ... 1885 Ram - RAM that statement where the sun don't shine ...
I have been asked NUMEROUS times wasssupy and I have splained. That I am NOT going to be getting back into that biz until I get to FL. I am now here ... but hardly completely moved in. And PLUS - I have not had any luck getting a building. Proper building size, price and zoning are the issues now ... so on this and a couple of other projects ..I will give that work on a temp basis to a qualified FG shop.
ME with a bad-attitude ? ... .... when it is THEM that started on me ??? .... THIS is almost funny ... if it was not so pathetic.
And the OTHER businesses that do not partake in these forums ? ... WHERE are they all ? .... Huh ?
It is because THEY don't want to get TRASHED by people like you. And I submit to you that I have not gotten trashed in the last day-or-so IS BECAUSE some of these keyboard-commandos have realized that what I say is the TRUTH.

I am IN on that production ..,. Got a FG dash from a competitor in my van as we speak going to Florida just after thanksgiving.. The dash that they made was TWO PiECES(believe it or not - THEY expected the customer to put it together!!...lol) .... It needs that work plus basic plug massage (like in the flat to make gauge install cleaner and easier) to make it nice to pull a mold off it . I'll be back in Florida to look at a MUCH smaller condo-type commercial building that is just going to have to do for now. Plans are to make 2 or 3 molds for this dash so there will never be (hopefully) a supply problem ....
Doc.. I didnt want to get into your pissin match but this is your first post... you basically say that you were looking into it... that was in Nov... as of today you still dont have a mold... some of the people are looking for a product.. not a song that its coming some day... now you want to jump on the guy that has a product and thats not called for.. I see no where that he said anything to you for you to jump like you have.. now if anyone has a comment about you moving in on his post you want to jump on them also... so I guess your gonna jump on me now.. feel free to do so.. you tend to do it... also NO ONE follows you around like a puppy dog... thats in your own mind.. I really dont think they give a damn what you do
