I am interested in a solid one (no gauge cutouts) for my 67 Cuda..

$200 beans sounds OK if it is built nice!

Let me know when please...

If it fits a '72 Duster and has a blank instrument panel I'd buy one.

Do you know how you'll fasten it to the firewall area? Drill holes and use the factory type clips or you do you have a different method planned?

It seems like there is enough interest to go ahead with this, so, I will have 10 dashes produced. In reading the PM's that have been sent, it seems as if most of you would like the dash area blank (or covered in glass as well)
If the speedometer area is covered, it would actually be more of a "Universal" dash, as the only differences with the 67-76 A body dashes, were the different gauge clusters (Rally dashes on Dusters/Barracudas vs. 67-69 Dart/70-76 Dusters, etc.)

In order to know exactly how many of you want the "Gauge cluster" delete, please send me a PM, so that I know exactly what to tell the builder.

Guys, let me be crystal clear with you, and this is purely out of respect for YOU. This is not a money making venture for me, nor is it another business for me. Simply put, I wanted one for my new car, and found that there were several guys that were interested, so, I figured I would do what I could, to help the Mopar community.

I am not building these dashes personally, but, have a professional that has many years of experience/knowledge, that will do the building.
I have been told that, from the day I place the order, it would take 2 weeks to complete the first 10 dashes. (I have been involved in this "Car stuff" for many moons, so, lead times are always something that I do not count on)

As far as payment, as many of you have inquired, I will not require pre-payment for these. I simply need you to send me a PM, with a commitment to purchase one, as soon as I have them finished. I simply need you to be a man of your word, when you commit to buying one. That's all.

Once again, my sole purpose for doing this, is to help fill a void, in a tight knit, yet small community. I will not ship junk, so, if it is not to my liking, it will not be shipped. Period.

I think that I have made this process as simple as possible, as this is all about fun, and no drama.

In closing, send those PM's, with your official order, and I will respond asap.

Thank you,
Chris

You're going to need some sort of shipping box made and then freight will cost some money so you might want to look into that too. You might be able to find a stock box that is big enough. Check with local packaging vendors. Probably need a double box to protect fiberglass.

You just need to bend-up a box, just some extra padding and cardboard and staple it together properly. I shipped probably 100 dashes over the years by UPS and FedEx ... and never once had a damage-claim.

And 200$ on a A body dash having 10 made ? ... selling them NOT as a money-making project ??.... you better look for someone else to treat-you-better !!

I will post-a-pic later of the "plug" that I have that WILL be going to a fiberglass fab shop THIS COMING WEEK. I have not had very good luck finding a building to REstart production so to a good fab shop it will have to go. THIS will have the OEM type upper dash-pad rear overhang AND most of the lower section of the dash will be FLAT so you can install gauges and switches across the whole part.

... And the price ? ... I will be able to make a small profit on it and sell it - ON the initial release of this new and improved piece - for around 160$ .....

...and WHY do I call this new and improved ? ...

FIRST .... NO recess cut-out of the steering column area. (why is this better ?... because not all steering column installs are like the OEM. If you want to cut it out - you can.) SECOND .... completely FLAT for install of whatever you want to put in there. THIRD ... the top pad overhang will be part of the dash itself ....and not a separate piece.

This "plug" used here was a competitor's part .... but will need extensive work before being usable to make the mold.

Mister Fiberglass - It is certainly your right to post whatever you want. That's why this country is so great. Having said that, you seem to stir the pot, any time you see the opportunity? I think that I made myself crystal clear (exact words) when I told everyone my reasoning behind doing this. If this is your line of business, than good for you, best of luck. I, along with several other members, don't get on this board anymore, because of the pi$$ing contests that some members like to partake in. No thanks. My parents had a saying....."It is best to keep your mouth shut, and be thought a fool, than to open it, and remove all doubt."

I will now go back into my cave. Thank you very much, to those of you that have already placed orders. If anyone else wants a dash, send me PM, and I will confirm your order.

Chris

Well Chris ... the nice thing about these posts is that all these writings are HERE for all to see ... and are time-stamped. I posted to this post - YOUR POST - only a few hours after you started it .... and said that I was going to make the dash. You never acknowledged that.

No problem.

Pi$$ing contests ? ... I can not remember ONE OF THOSE that I have started. But I will admit ENDING SOME ...where I have been "attacked" or they have attempted to smear me ... you bet.

YOU even do that HERE ...on your last post. And that look-at-me LOOK-AT-ME DoucheDart ... ...........R U going to label him correctly ? ...

Now if there are people that want your part ... that costs more, probably weighs more, and does not have the critical features that mine has .....

FINE with me ....

JUST quoting here to PROVE that DD starts-up on people more than anyone suggests or admits .... I said NOTHING to this person here .... it for all to see.

His good-bud Kevin has interest or ownership in Unlimited Products .... their quality and customer service SPEAKS for itself. And he is PROBABLY doing this dash project. This is probably why DD has started-up on me ....

.... DD on me ? .... never happen ...

Weight, cost, options of how it can be finished out. So far all I know about yours is you copied another manufacturer and you appear to have a wavy dash pad. That doesn't scream buy this one. Is there a place we can view more of your products?
