true I guess as a bolt on deal...but maybe not if you are building a motor around them

Custom pistons would be your only option and valve to bore ratio kinda leans toward an aftermarket block with a big bore.
If that's the case why not go W8 or W9.

True

Yes but then you need to find them.

Add to that, you probably won't be talked to like you're an idiot either.

I would really like to know who Edelbrock approached to help design this head. I'm betting late into the project they realized they headed in the wrong direction with this head. In order to sell it at a reasonable price to the average guy doing a build with a stock production block it a failure. Mopars aftermarket small blocks are over priced and unreliable if you can even find one. After two long talks with Trickflow they at least want to talk to the average Joe to see what's needed. I see them releasing a big block first and hopefully move toward an out of the box 300+ cfm head.

Nice to hear that stuff about trickflow, the question is will it ever actually happen in the near future.

NO. I talked to them again this year at The Halloween Classic at Norwalk and nothing has been done at this point. Honestly I think its a bad move bring a big block head out first and I'm a big block guy playing with small blocks right now. The big block market is saturated.

I'd just like to see a current aluminum version of pretty much ANY SB head that looked "as cast" on the ends like iron heads (like the old Batten W2 heads, or the old Diamond W2 heads) all of the current offerings look like ugly aluminum bricks on top of a cast iron block.... 300 flow would be nice two. but secondary to appearances for me (and more stock 340 guys than you might think).

With the extremely small market of the SB mopar the odds of anybody spending too much time coming up with a world beater is slim to none. I avoid Indy at almost all cost but they have the market covered, unless you go W series stuff and the issues raised, but for big HP that's the go to choice.

I'm not, but there is no doubt in my mind at all, there's a market for them. Just like the 440 Source "Stealth" 440 heads.

You should come up with a design that makes HP and looks like you want them to. Bet you'd make a ton of $$ on that deal.

Let's tell Vic to bring them one....when they come out I will probably pick up a set just knowing them for quality and supporting a great american company that spends large volumes of money to take a chance on us SBM guys developing them.......The 6 bolts and beefy deck thickness appeals to us boosted folks also...Though I do already have a set of 230cc 360-2's on the motor now , I would love to compare them...

Also looking at the pics on edelbrocks site they have a nicely placed water outlet port right in the center of the head to get some extra cooling flowing between the center exhaust ports.....a notoriously hot area on power adder motors.

Don't forget to make them look "stock". Great idea.
