anyone running headers with a magnum engine in a 92-93 d150/d250 2x or 4x4 truck chassis with a v-8 nv4500 hydro bell housing with nv4500 5 speed? in the middle of conversion on the 85 truck chassis. 85 2x truck long tube headers do not fit with magnum manual nv4500 bell housing. so do 92-93 magnum trucks use the ramhead shorty header like the 92-93 v-8 DAK any long tube headers for the magnum truck chassis? anyone use the DAK magnum manifolds? kinda stuck here..now what do i do?? pics would be great.

I have had a set of the Summit headers on mine for over ten years, I had them coated and they are still in great shape. I hooked them to the stock Y pipe

Sean used a set of long tubes on his 360 magnum in his 88 W150 conversion. Not sure what brand they are, they kind of look like Hedmans. I told him to check for port alignment as they were designed for an LA and he said they had good alignment. Truck pulls like a raped ape. He's using an NV4500.

think I may have found a set that will work, it moves the #7 tube more to the front of engine.
foot note say it will only work with the low torque(short) LA style sarter.
I only need 1.5" for the mini starter to fit. when I got my 85 truck I had a set like this gave to me and i run them a while. I had to R&R the driver side with the LA style starter (short) but when I went to a mini starter I could R&R it with out R&R of the header. then they rusted thru and I replaced them.
i replaced them with the hedman 79080 2x truck headers.
looks like the hedman 79170 2x or 4x4 truck headers will fit, #7 tube is out of the way of the mini starter.
what I have 79080

these are the 79170 2x or 4x4 hedman headers with # 7 tube moved further forward to make room for the LA style starter.(short) should have plenty of room for a mini in there with these. now to roll the dice on IF they are whats in the pic they used for advertisment purpose. here are the 79170 hedman truck headers what do you think? ya or nay ??? if sean/sheldon use long tubes with a magnum/nv4500 in a 88 4x4...this has to be the headers i would think. any thing else for a 92 is the ram head shortys like a DAK uses.

thank you for the pics, they are worth a 1000 words. they look almost exact but a couple slight changes maybe. the pass side looks like a match, the driver side has the tubes arranged a little different but look close enuff...#7 tube seems to be out of the way of the starter. I think I am good with the 79170 I am hopeing that changes down the line are the differance between your pics and the advertising pic for 78170 headers. big help and thank you.
