Jim is going thru my chassis and we will get it to certify for the 9.xx or better. I am quite happy with the engine so no changes there. I have also asked him to drive the beater next year! J_BODY I Live Here J Joined: May 2003 Posts: 13,202 aZLiViN	Time and motivation to work on the car seems to slow things down around here, but I'm still hoping to get a hit on the car this year. We've caged it, went to a coil over tube K set up which means the headers won't fit..getting that handled tuesday. That should be the biggest hurdle to getting the car completed with the 400hp iron head 360 combo up and running. The W8/R3 combo should be done shortly also and will require another set of headers so we'll need to adapt to a little more HP when that's completed. I'm just hoping to hit a few mopar events (MaTS, Famoso, Sacramento) as well as run at the new track in Phoenix and hopefully return to Fontana as they should be going in 2014. If not, I'll just hit some Vegas races.

earthmover top fuel E Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 2,449 nc	going to try and finish this thing up and put some fire in the holes..lol I have the headers done except 1 pipe that's not hard to do...need to finish welding 1 mount for the brakes but got to get a vent for the rear to get it all done..front mount cells 1 for alky and 1 for race gas for nos.. nount the frontend and doors driveshaft and finish the tin work.. wire and new shoes all the way around tires and wheels oh mount the fuel pump on the motor ..man the list just keep getting longer I need to be in the shop now

I will concentrate on S/ST until the spring Vegas race and try and get the Jegs Allstar spot. Once that is decided I am not really sure. But I guess since it will be free to run a few national events we will likely do that in S/C. Will freshen up the bulet after the spring Vegas race and just try and enjoy the remainder of the year. Take 2015 off and try and get the TS car ready.. Unless the USAF has other plans which may be happening again sooner than we want "I am not ashamed to confess I am ignorant of what I do not know." Vernon, Ohio	Install a larger fuel return line and get the headers re-coated, I would like to do paint and body work on it but that will probably be next year, truck need's it worse. Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

With the evolution of the cars it just needed to be totally redne to be competitve and that was something I was not wanting to do. I let go of it as a roller but kept all the HS goodies. At its current weight (2850) its gone 10.08 with a very mild 408 on pump gas 93. Its gone 6.29 in the 1/8 mile so I am going to see how close to a 5.99 I can go next year with Edelbrock heads. I bought some used Strange struts, brakes, coils, and spindles off a Friend for 100 dollars and he is going to install them for another 500 in the next week or two. Then I can get black aluma-stars to match the back. I would love to finish the Daytona and install my B1 heads on the 572 and do some limited Top Sportsmen racing at some IHRA divisional events. It went a new best of 11.23@119.5 friday night and I think in the same awesome air it might go a 10.9999999 with the low gear trans and a little more converter. 11.20s is faster than I ever thought this pump gas 360 would go in my 3500lb(with driver) ride. I also am going to try very hard to do Drag Week with my Dad again. If it's dry, I'll take the wife's Volvo, as it should run close to the 20.14 index without much trouble! As far as announcing goes, I still have one more Loose Rocker Promotions race this year (Fall Footbrake Frenzy V at Piedmont in NC Thanksgiving Weekend). Next year I'll do 3-4 races for Loose Rocker and 3-5 (or more ) for Summit Motorsports Park. I plan on attending the World Footbrake Challenge in July at Bristol as a spectator, maybe with a bit of mic time, and I have a couple of other possibilities out there that I'm waiting on. Amazingly enough, I'm not bothered that I did not make a single pass down the track this year. I used to get really antsey wanting to race when I announced, but the past few years I've realised that this keeps me involved, people pay me to do something I like, and I don't get bored waiting hours between runs. New paint, new carb, new rims, new tires and new brakes to name a few of the new things on it. Gotta make a showing... I bought a 63 Baja bug a couple months ago, it needs some little things I am not happy with. Then hit the trails here in AZ. That should be fun.See pic Also bought a 71 Torino GT to have as a fun car I can go anywhere with. totally stock and plan to keep it that way. Start to get the interior of the bus finished. So it looks halfway decent. Then there is the secret project. I know the motor is being built as money has passed hands and pics of progress have been sent. The chassis is underway, parts purchased and all that fun stuff. The painter is lined up so it is rolling. I was told it would be back in my hands by May/June time frame. Change to a 4.56 gear from the 4.10's. 3. Try and lower and maybe even move the engine back a little if possible. 4. Look for a few more ways to try and whittle off another 50lbs or so.

In July we bought a house, then I got hurt a work in August and had to have surgery on my right elbow. I still need to put the heads back on and put the car back together. changing the rear wheels to beadlocks and new slicks and hook up the 2nd stage of nitrous. Of course, that means new rear tires, probably an anti-roll bar, and I'll want to do the tighter converter it needs. Oh, and have to get the belts re-cert'ed. With a right converter, it'll need a window net, chassis cert (and that will require finally adding the diagonal down bars behind the seats). Maybe I'll just leave it in the trailer for another year.

Whilst it was there it also had a rear anti roll bar fitted, 'chute mount, chrome moly prop, D/A rear shocks and Wilwoods fitted to the Dana. Should have it back next week after being baselined with the 580 motor. All we have to do after that is beef the 'box up some more and the 655 can go in Then we have the 68 Barracuda to do, 'box is done and the motor for this starts very soon, just a warmed over 318 with mildly worked '308 heads. Should be a fun daily driver. '74 Challenger..9.46 @ 145.9 1/4, 6.001 @ 118 1/8 so far. 4023lb !!! # N/A, Marsh performance 655ci, Indy Maxx, T/R, Indy 600-13 X's, Street legal, pump gas, full interior, Cal-Tracs, mufflers, 3:73's and real 10.5 radials. 9.51 @ 142.4 1/4, 6.003 @ 114 1/8 with our old mule KB, 572-13, 580 wedge.
