1. Your Lot Date is definitely the later production w/ the smaller chamber (advertised 72 cc) and more restrictive ports.
2. Yes, you're leaving a lot on the table by having run them as true OOB heads. Porting, chamber work & valve job are all areas for improvement.,
Me, I can't run ANYTHING OOB... but my junk's never together to run much, either.
I hear ya Brad. Just wanted to try it this way to start plus, the $$$ saved by not porting helped buy rockers. In fact, mine is the first engine I've seen in person "running" with Victor heads. Everyone else I know around here runs Indy. Heck I'm surrounded by 'em . Just had to be different and go against the grain

I hear ya', too. When I picked up the 2nd set of original OOB 75 cc heads after having bought a set of Hughes' CNC-ported 75 cc heads, I thought about putting my RB 452 back together w/ the OOB heads, too, and switching to the CNC'd heads later for a true before-and-after comparison. But I couldn't stand the idea of actually running the OOB heads OOB... would HAVE to do SOMETHING to them first, whether a good valve job, some basic runner & bowl cleanup, etc. So, I gave up on that idea and am slowly putting things together w/ the CNC'd heads and the worked-over M1 intake (on which I spent too many hours and too many $$$) that matches it.

I bought a top end set up with the Victor M.W. heads, Super Victor 4500 intake and valley plate from a member, he bought them from Hughes with thier extruded rocker arms and valves ready to assemble. I check one combustion chamber last night with a Autolite 3911 spark plug in it and it measured 74.6 CC. I looked on the Edlbrock web site and printed thier head flow information, I'm kind of disappointed in what I read. Has anyone flowed a set of those heads with the M.W. ports ? if so can you post the results , especially at .300,.400, .500 and .600 please

OK..Bear in mind that these were hand ported by Radar Lechtenberg at R&J Performance in Hudson,Iowa. Lift at Valve Range Percent CFM@ 28"in. .100 3 .45 72 .200 3 .89 142.5 .300 4 .64 204 .400 4 .84 268 .500 4 .97 310 .600 5 .71 340 .700 5 .735 351.4 That takes care of the intake. Now the exhaust .100 2 .77 61.5 .200 3 .73 121.5 .300 4 .50 167 .400 4 .60 200 .500 4 .685 229 .600 4 .735 245.5 .700 4 .765 255.4

Makes sense as the numbers they show are the same as what they show for standard Victors. All they changed was the part number.
I jsut looked at both flow sheets for the 440 port size Victor #77929 and the 77949 M.W. Victor port size and the flow numbers are no different, exactly the same I called Eddy tech. again before looking back at this post and ask them if the flow numbers psoted on their web site for the M.W. was for the M.W. or the 440 port sizes, the tech, Ron, assued me that they where for the M.W. heads, not the 440 port sizes Me thinks they no nothing about what they talk about I don't know if I should waste any more of my time calling Eddy tech to point thier erors out to them or not, any volunteers want to do that now We'll see

Cab think of your head as a funnel with the BIG part of the funnel being the intake flange opening. If you make the large opening bigger it won't let more flow come out of the small end. It only makes the BIG end easier to hit. Max wedge opening gives you a different option for intake manifolds but unless you open the rest of the port it won't or shouldn't flow more.

Same here, since the OOB standard vs. MW Victor flow tests I've seen do show the MW ports flowing more up high.
Also, their advertised flow #s don't reflect the changes they made to the Victor heads at the end of 2011. They don't flow as well OOB now due to chamber & bowl revisions.

One thing for people to check is the #2 and #4 rocker stands. Mine were .200 too wide if I remember correctly.
