I think these go in the front between the outer bumper bracket to bumper hole but want to be sure. Any input??

Thanks,
Bob

They fit on the inside of the bumper, on the last (toward the outside) bumper bolt, just before the lock washer and nut, and extend out to the outer edges of the bumper, kinda like extra support for the ends of the bumper. At least that's the way they are on my 70.

Hey Jess,
It looks like they are more for holding the rubber corner pieces on the bumper in place than anything else. I looked close at mine last night and there are indentations where the bracket was holding them in.

Thanks,
Bob

I haven't installed my front bumper yet, (hope to soon). I will check that out when I do. Thanks for the head up.

Does anyone know if these "bumper filler brackets" are being repopped, or know where I can get a used pair? Thanks.

Can anyone post some photos (with measurements) of these brackets? I think I'm going to have to try and make a pair, since they appear to be "hard-to-come-by" and/or expensive. Thanks.

FYI - No one (so far) on C-C.com has confirmed that these brackets were ever used on any E-body. Can someone here share any confirmation (or proof) that these brackets were used on '70-'71 Challengers to "retain" the rubber bumper fillers? Thanks.

Sorry to say but they are. I will try to get them off this weekend and get the part # and better pictures. I never saw them before I took this car apart.

They are Challenger, almost always missing, and I've personally not seen them beyond the '70 model year but I'm not aware of any cutoff dates etc.

If you are not in a rush, I do have a pair somewhere, but it will probably take me a week or so to track them down as this month is crazy for work.

There is most certainly a discrepancy regarding the existence/presence of these elusive mystery brackets. I looked at my Service Manual last night for '70 Dodge Dart/Challenger, and did not see any indication of the presence or use of these brackets in the "front bumper" section. Over the years of internet researching, I have seen these brackets. I don't believe everything I read on the internet, but it certainly provides a boundless wealth of information. FWIW - I've attached a couple of photos from an ebay listing I saved from 10/2006. I don't always believe everything I see/read in ebay listings. I have seen MANY listings with inaccurate descriptions. Thanks.

Has anyone figured out the details on these? Did they only come on early Challengers or something? Some photos would be great.

Left and right have the same part #, just bent to mirror each other. They just put a l or r on them. I am pretty sure they go behind the bumper bracket not between the bumper and bracket. Upon close examination of mine, I could see the washer imprint where it was fastened down. Glad to help Joe and Cody!!
