Just saw this on their site...no date set yet, as I checked the KIKO Auction site as well: Below this story, you will see a copy of the flyer for our upcoming, 15th Annual "Halloween Thing" Weekend. After 24 years of owning and operating Dragway 42, we have decided that it is time to move on. To that end, we have officially decided to sell the track. We have listed the track with KIKO Realtors, so this will, most likely, be our LAST "HALLOWEEN THING". Please help us make our LAST "HALLOWEEN THING" the best ever! If you or someone you know are interested in carrying on the Dragway 42 legend, contact Dick Kiko, Jr. at 330-453-9187, ext. 105. Thank you, The Ehrmantraut Family EDIT: SOLD! 42 is about 15 minutes away from us. We refuse to go there, because they do not take care of the track. Everytime i made a run down that track, something different fell off my car. And there is so much mud and dirt everywhere. I hope who ever buys the track, takes better care of it. It would be nice to utilize a track so close to home.

I really hope someone buys it and fixes it up like Bader did with Norwalk. I used to love racing at the Halloween thing and the old world series of drag racing events. Then I started going about 100 Mph at the "bump" and that was enough for me to stop racing there. Lets keep our fingers crossed Gus

750k isnt a bad price when you consider the price of Ohio real estate in general. How many acres is the property? a 100 acre farm near my parents recently sold for 1.5 mil, and it was undeveloped farm land. if that track has 20-30 acres 750 seems like a very fair price. Of course...if the track is as bad as you guys say, then it sounds like another 100k minimum needs to be invested into the property to bring the people back in. I wonder how long it would take to recoup the nearly $1 million investment it would take to turn the property around?

Same issue Marion County has. It has been for sale for a little while. Needs to find a buyer that will take a real interest in updating the track, and taking care of the racers. Both 42 and Marion have a lot of history and I hope both will be around for years to come.

You could pack the stands at these 2 legendary Ohio if someone would be willing to take the risk on fixing them up. When we had our stick races at 42 there were spectators in the bleachers on both sides of the track.I believe the tracks could be successful if they were promote an NSS type of series or something like the deal Bob George is proposing. The track surface itself would be the big expense in both cases and the pits would be a secondary concern. Hell I remember seeing Don Garlits laying in the dirt changing pistons on his fuel car back in the 70's I remember when Jack reopened 42 I was there almost every weekend getting as many passes in as I wanted I had my first big win there with a 5 foot trophy that took me 11 rounds to win against mostly automatic cars.Racing was a lot more fun then when my car was slower and cheaper to race. Well lets all hope someone with a love of old time racing and deep pockets takes the chance on them Gus
