I have a couple sets of pistons here, all stamped 2406648. I'm pretty sure they are 413 Max Wedge pistons but I have consulted all my parts books and I cannot find a match - not in factory parts books, Davis books, Schild guide, etc.

They have a .063" dome height and measure about 4.200" OD on my calipers, I don't have a micrometer big enough.

Can anyone out there help me out with an ID? Many thanks.

They look like 11-1 MW pistons, 4.20" would be .020" over 413....too small for a 426.

Part number looks like a old Direct Connection # maybe?

another picture.

I measured again, and while the OD is ~4.200" at the top of the piston, it measures ~4.245" across the bottom of the skirts. I checked a few, they are all similarly tapered.. I didn't realize they had that much taper.

If anyone could find a listing for a 2406648 anywhere, I'd be very grateful. At this point I am thinking it's an 11:1 426 piston.

Thank you for the links, I did see those reference to the piston when I did an internet search. But I cannot find the numbers in a book, manual, or from a reputable source, such as I'm hoping to find here. Thanks again everyone.

Thanks you guys.

I'll check the ring clearances - Don't have a feeler gauge here.

Have one set to keep and use, one set to sell.

Thanks again and best wishes!
